Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
Naw, she was a total goober about it. It was all weir and awkward like most of what she does. I still haven't figured out if Lynch wants her that way or not.
As for hating her.....eh hate is probably too strong of a word and requires a level of commitment that I am neither willing to give or am inherently capable of. Shall I use contempt instead?
People are critical of Tammy's response and all Cole said was "Sheriff's station?" Did you want her to act hysterical? Did you want her to cry? Did you want her to freak out? Why don't you want Cole to express any remorse?
They are FBI agents and likely already guessed what Cooper did when he visited Diane.
How about this: Tammy handled it cooly and calmly like one would hope any male FBI special agent would. She even used her super-freaky-flash speed to jump out of frame and retrieve her weapon before returning to exactly the same spot next to Albert before firing. I'd like to see one of YOU do that!

OK, this could go a couple of directions, however, I'm wondering if you include the Keystone Kops in the Vegas FBI office with your proposition. Would love to get those guys' take on the Diane scene.
Very good point!
The only thing about this episode that felt a little bit cheesy was Tammy's reaction (or acceptance if you will) to this whole tulpa thing. If I had been in her position, I would have been completely shocked to what I just witnessed.
Her reaction just came across as a bit lame and... How do one put it? Easily done by the director? Or maybe that's just me.
I dunno. She's just heard a horrific rape story. A horrific deception. Her reaction is 'oh wow, a tulpa!' WTF!?
Unfortunately, rape is a lot more common than seeing a tulpa disappear--and Tammy has probably seen quite a few, if not many, rape cases. Also, I am thinking that the brilliant team of Albert, Gordon, and Tammy probably figured out that not-right-Cooper had done something bad to Tammy anyway, so that wasn't so much a surprise (we guessed it as a possibility). But NOBODY predicted that Diane was a tulpa!

They knew something was up with Diane. Far too many clues.
So it wouldn't be terribly surprising that she would pull a gun, get shot, and *POOF* disappear.
Well, having slept on it, and rewatched the scene, I would say her reaction probably is what one would expect. Maybe this entire scene is just too much of a "chamber play" for me, and that's what's bothering me. A small cast in a small room. And that's how one would react if something like that happened in such a tiny space.
But I think there are things in this season that seems a bit rushed, that could have been done in a different way (and some things that on the opposite seems way too drawn out)
I thought Tammy was more of a sceptic, like Dana Scully in "The X-files". I think anyone would be in her position. I don't know if I had wanted her to freak out, but like some of you have pointed out, Albert had already told her about the disappearing tulpas, so I guess her reaction is what one would expect. So I rest my case, and this entire thread can be erased.

It was a fun conversation. (Not one of the threads I'd like to erase at least from my memory--there aren't many but I've unsubscribed a couple as to got get dragged back into a vortex of negativity).
I admit I would have preferred they cast a more 'established' or trained actress as Tammy. The character could have been a formidable 'next gen' leader of Blue Rose with the right actress.
It almost reminds me of when new agents were cast in X-Files. They weren't "bad" per se, but what they lacked only illuminated how good the original leads were...
When I saw Chrysta Bell at the premiere red carpet event doing her interview, I was really hoping she played a minor role and would be gone from the season quickly. There was something in the way she spoke to the interviewer that came across to me as incredibly pretentious and fake. I can't say that her role as Tammy has improved my opinion of her or her acting 'ability'. I can say that I was seriously disappointed that she was playing Tammy, rather than one of the many women we've seen briefly in the Roadhouse booths, and then never again.
With two older men in the Blue Rose task force, Tammy interjects pure, unadulterated sensuality - just watch the way she sways her hips when she walks - she is a throwback to female crooners of the past -- not having to wear sexy/revealing outfits to exude confidence and femininity
I am enjoying the juxtaposition between the old guard and the new
But, what do I know - I'm just a red-blooded American male 🙂
If your read the Secret History - Tammy is very diligent in researching - I am quite sure she knows all about culpas but had yet to see one in real life - hence her excitement
I like Tamms. She's smart, she's cool like the cucumber, she's sensible and confident. She knows when she's been slighted and speaks up, but getting the gentleman a round of coffees isn't one of those times. Next pour is on Albert, and that's just fine. Also, she glides like a precision Swiss made machine. Works for me.
