Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
I'm not sure if this has been discussed in previous threads, but is Sonny-Jim half "Tulpa?" If Dougie Jones (the Tulpa/manufactured/whatever the fuck he is) is Sonny-Jim's biological father, then that would make him half "manufactured?" I guess the same could be said about Richard if Audrey is also a Tulpa. I suppose the rules of the lodges are incredibly complex and flexible.
It's malleable pie, friendo.
Yeah, methinks the Sonny-Jim half tulpa concept cruised around somewhere back in the stacks, way back...I don't recall anything profound getting unearthed. Go for it, man!! Reveal the TRUTH about Sonny Jim that the world's been waiting to hear. Be the One, Champ!
(sheesh! this thing has finally twisted my brain into a pretzel, know what I mean)
I think he does have some doppel-genes from Mr C, as he presumably provided his DNA for the Dougie tulpa, but don't think he's half tulpa. Tulpas appear to be humans without a "soul." They got shafted with the whole golden pearl seed thing.
Richard is half doppelgänger, I think. There is a distinction between a shadow self (doppelgänger) and a tulpa. What I wonder now, though, is did Richard have half reversed finger prints? He's not fully doppelgänger only half, so, did he?

Half-reversed fingerprints. You're deliberately torturing my head, aren't you.
Somewhere on a lonely wooded road is an abandoned beater car with Richard's intact fingerprints, such as they are, all over it. And, as a (half)doppelgänger I'd half (sic) expect an appearance in the waiting room at the least, if not the Black Lodge. No? Yes? Then again, was the ring ever on his hand? I don't recall.
Undoubtedly mentioned before, but I think it's a good point to distinguish between doppelganger and tulpa. They could be one and the same, but maybe not. Evil Coop was there pretty suddenly at the end of season 2, but Bob could have manufactured him. To me it seems like Evil Coop and Dougie were two very different animals. Dougie the tulpa, Mr. C the doppelganger. Diane the tulpa, Lois Duffy the tulpa. Evil Arm the doppelganger. Do we really think Mr. C. will crack and his head turn to black flame and then obliterate into bright-ass electricity? Hmm....

Haha! I have wondered if we are going to get a Richard in the Red Room scene. Would be pretty hilarious, IMO. Can't top Diane's, but still . . .
Laugh if you like. Richard is one of the characters in this play that truly scared me. That boy's eyes, *shiver*, he'd make a good BOB apprentice, you ask me.
(hell of an actor, eh?)

Apologies. The "haha!" was in re: "You're deliberately torturing my head."
Richard was pretty diabolical (aside from his moment of weakness with Red).
I didn't like him when he assaulted the girl at the Roadhouse, but when he attacked his grandmother, that was it for me - pure evil.
