Just a minor observation/query. It doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Did anyone think that Diana (well, tulpa Diane) recovered rather quickly from her breakdown in the FBI hotel room? One minute, she's relaying a harrowing story of Mr. C raping her and then taking her to some weird gas station (convenience store). She's almost crying, sometimes gasping for breath as she's talking. Then things get even worse, she seems to sincerely be recognizing her tulpa status and is unnerved by it, then goes into her "sheriff's station" rambling. It's all a really well-acted, emotional scene by Laura Dern.

Aaaaaaaaand then she's sitting coolly and calmly in the Waiting Room chair, saying "F**k you" to Mike. That sudden emotional recovery really took me out of the scene, and I could (cynically) see the wheels turning in Frost/Lynch's heads of, 'Hey, why don't we have Diane go out with her signature phrase? LOL.'

Except, nah. I mean, I get it. And a lot of fans seemed to really like it. But for me it just didn't work. Not after her immediately-preceding breakdown in the FBI room.

Well, considering she's a Tulpa, who knows what her emotional capacity and state of mind are.

I took it as the real Diane memories and emotions were starting to take over when she was telling the story but as soon as she was back in the lodge she was back to her chill, bitchy, tulpa self. Dougie was very mellow when he went back to the lodge too. Maybe tulpas are more controlled while in the lodge.

That is one thing I've noticed about Diane throughout the last many weeks; she is very emotionally inconsistent. Look at her behavior outside the prison.  Then her behavior since then, but a change when she talks about Janey-E.

Being a Tulpa is probably pretty difficult on a person.

Also, she's already died. What's left to be scared / upset about?

I hope those are my last words when I die. 🙂

The big question I have is why Dougie was planted with Diane's sister. Why was she chosen or why was Dougie introduced to her?

I don't think, at this point, that we have any good evidence that Diane was telling the truth about that.

Well transports to the waiting room just sit there most of the time and don't say much. I am always surprised at how easily they adjust to their new surroundings. I would be terrified but they just hang out.

Well, I had been thinking that both Janey-E and Sonny-Jim were manufactured.  Now maybe at the same time as tulpa Diane, thus making her think that Janey-E was her sister. Maybe Janey-E was manufactured for Dougie....

I was envisioning the look on Dougie's face and his, "I feel weird," comment while I read your post and am still laughing. Haha. Diane is the winner though as far as reactions to Mike's, "you've been manufactured . . ." as far as I'm concerned. Can't wait until my number is called. The chair seems real comfy and Mike ain't such a bad guy.

Yes, I too have been thinking all Joneses were manufactured. What first clued me in was that we see an owl right before we first see and hear Janey-E.  (I don't mean owls always mean tulpas. But they mean a variety of otherworldly things.)
