I'm on my fourth watching of Twin Peaks latest episode and note that Cheetos are quite prominent.

Upon reflection, I think that Apple has been too (think of FBI offices Albert/Tammy).

The only other I can think of is when the Hateful 8 two talk about Wendy's.

Do you think that these are purposeful/financial 'agreements'?

Were they actually Cheetos brand though?  I seem to remember one of bags in the van last episode spelled something else

Absolutely. There's quite a bit of product placement all season long. Lots of Apple, Some car ads in there as well.

I do hope Chantal's fondness for Cheetos wasn't written into her character bc of the product. Did you notice in her very first scene all the cheeto bags all over her hotel room, like a dog that got into the garbage. It's hilarious.

I've always looked at the Cheetos thing as a joke. A snack made of corn...Instantaneous garmanbozia.

They certainly called it/named it as it is, as for prop/product graphics, I can't comment, as we have Wotsits in the UK - a (same but) different product.

People have collectively thought that Chantal and Hutch are a nod to Tarantino. As such, he is known to talk/write/film about certain products as they appear  in culture, so this is wholly possible.

Good point! Corn. I  send a lot of parcels off with packing garmonbozia!

There is a very long scene with Dougie eating "Miss Vickie's" chips in front of Janey-E and after with Sonny Jim (episode 6)

They most definitely are not Cheetos.  The ones Chantal stuffs in her gob are called Crunch-eez.

You lot have painted on eyes. 😉

Clue is in the name, mate.  Cheetos is Cheetos.  Crunch-eez is Crunch-eez.

There's a difference between using stuff from RL and product placement.  AFAICR, Lynch doesn't do product placement but he's not averse to using real stuff in his work.

Plenty of branded hardware at Twin Peaks sheriff station. Could the real Diane be a Dell monitor?

Nah, fella, I repeat - she may well be eating those, but surely they called them Cheetos, right?
