This rings true to me. I hadnt thought about making her remember to get the correct coordinates.

But didnt when she was recounting the events of the rape, it seemed like she couldnt go on, and she looked down at the message and shuddered and was able to remember.

Also before she went up to the room she said to herself "i hope this works" and i cant imagine what that could have meant?

 

One last thought, gordon is in a room full of loud and beeping equipment and we have seen throughout the show his use of hearing aids and his sensitivity during, so how is he able to hear diane in the hall?

It just adds to the strange dream like nature everything in the show has now.
