If it's inconclusive, I hope they manage to wrap it up a damn sight quicker this time around. I reckon I'll have croaked in 25 years.
Ditto. There are some longevity genes in my family, but I'm not depending on that, so 25 years is too long for me. If no season 4 is happening, then some closure would be great. It occurred to me that they may have made different endings depending on whether or not they are expecting to do either another season or a film.
All his support crew are dead, or otherwise unable to help out. Richard, Diane, Chantal and Hutch all totalled in this episode. Ike the Spike in chokey. Not that he needs them, of course.
Not even certain if Bob is still on board.
Sucks to be Mr C.
Agree. And, Good Coop is getting a nice team together in the meantime.
After reading a lot of your posts, i find I agree with you on a lot.
Big Bowie fan myself...big isn't even a good description of my love for the man. Almost used King Dice as my user name.
And to top it off you just name checked my favorite author, Phil Dick.
Bowie, Dick, and Lynch are my holy triumvirate of art.
Heh. King Dice is the name of my band. Well, given my assumed name, it'd have to be, right?
There's some other guy using the name, an African dude, I believe. We've been around for much longer, though.
Philip K Dick is one of my favourites but not my all time favourite. Scottish guy, Iain M Banks was, IMO, the best ever SF writer. Sadly passed away in 2013.
Bowie... A major influence on my music, although my stuff sounds nothing like his.
Anyhow, back to topic...
What on earth does Coop have in mind for the Mitchum brothers? I guess they're useful in a firefight but so are the Sheriff's guys. I don't think guns are going to be too much use anyhow. Much as I like the idea of Coop having plenty of backup I can't think what actual use they will all be.
Not sure but perhaps it suggests MrC (and anyone he has with him) are going to formidable enough that Coop is going to need the sheriff boys, Naido, The Green Glove, Mitchum Bros, Candy and friends, and whomever else he can find.
Other topic....
Im pretty much retired from music now, but i was in the biz for many years.
Bowie was of course my biggest influence.

Right?!
There are - or were - several long lived members in my family, then my mom had to go and spoil it by inconveniently dropping dead* at 68. My dad made it into his 70s but both sets of grandparents lived t0 be quite a bit older.
25 years from now I'll be 83. I may not even care what happens in Twin Peaks. It's a grim but safe bet that many of the cast won't be around, either.
* I always speak of my mom's death that way. I think it would have amused her.
It does seem that on this see-saw ride that as Cooper's army is growing, Mr. C's is shrinking.
I'm thinking Lynch already did the Copper cliffhanger and wont do that one again. Seeing as the story/world of TP is so much larger now, the cliff hanger would have to be larger too.
Perhaps we will have to determine if we are caught between parallel worlds, or what if anything is actually happening, or just a dream or delusion.
Most likely, something wonderful and strange.
Seeing Dale in his full powers, I gotta think that Mr. C is screwed. Not only does he not HAVE allies, he does not want them. They are as disposable as his son was.
I kind of felt like the Audrey cliffhanger we got last night was evocative of the Dale cliffhanger, though we will hooefully grt a payoff next week.

I wouldn't mind if the cliffhanger was who goes back to live with Janey E and Sonny Jim: Dale Cooper or Tulpa Dougie. I want to see Mister C go down.

Who do you think set that trap for MrC?

My money is on Phillip Jeffries.
Major Briggs is a candidate. Perhaps it wasn't for Mr C specifically but some safeguard which happened to suit Briggs' purpose at the time.
A big clue regarding the idea of the Mitchum brothers being tulpas was the scene in the car.
After Coop said they had hearts of gold...
"They do, they really do".
Hmm.

It's odd that we haven't had the big reveal of Mr. C's objective. There is no real sense of threat or doom at this point.
The closest we've gotten is "Frank, you don't ever want to know about that."

Big reveal hidden in plain sight as a warm hearted compliment type "hmm".
Edited to add:
Not sure if I believe it but after everything else, nowt would surprise me.
