Seems like Jerry's quest through the forest led him here.

Jerry must be pretty fried, looking through the wrong end of binoculars.

I loved the irony of the scene: "I've got coordinates from three different people and two match" . . . Says Richard is smart for drawing the conclusion that the two that match are likely the correct ones, then sends him to investigate the one that didn't match. Haha

I haven't rewatched that scene, but didn't the top of the rock where Richard vaporized look like an electrical outlet?

Jerry must be pretty fried, looking through the wrong end of binoculars.

But if he'd used them the right way round, his eyeballs probably would be fried - so I suppose he had the last laugh...

See I took it to mean that WAS the location where 2 coordinates matched but Mr C was still skeptical.  So 2 of his 3 sources are working against him ... one isnt

I've drawn this conclusion as well based upon another discussion thread (that you started, I think).

Basically, if Richard hadn't been fried at the 1st one - if he'd come back & said he'd seen something amazing, I think he'd have been toast as well.

I still have a couple of quibbles about the parentage of Richard.  If he is from Mr C raping Audrey - I'm surprised at her parents going through with a pregnancy.  (assuming she was in a coma/ still unwell in some way - which would necessitate them having to be responsible for medical treatment/ care of any grandchildren)  They weren't really the most parentally responsible - while wanting to maintain appearances.
They struck me as a very swept-under-the-carpet family.

NB - this doesn't mean I'm arguing with the story given, just my thoughts on the flow of the story...

Where exactly were they? That looked a little too desert-y to be WA, but Jerry was there...

It could go along with Ben's attempt at becoming a better man?  If she was in a coma they probably just assumed it was Wheeler's and she'd want the baby?  Maybe!  I could see it happening.
