Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
In the Twitter Q&A yesterday, KM said that he got to play FOUR characters on the show!
Dougie, Dale, Mr. C.--and the original Dougie? Is he counting the Dougie Prime and Dougie 2 as different characters? Or do you think there's another one coming?
If there's going to be another Dougie tulpa, then wouldn't that technically be five?
I think they're four: Dale Cooper, Mr. C, Douglas Jones (original tulpa) and Douglas Jones (improved tulpa, yet to be seen). Mr. Jackpots (Dale Cooper in Douglas Jones's life) is not a different character, it is just an addled version of Dale Cooper.
Dale Cooper
Mr C
Dougie
New Dougie
Makes four.
The returned Dale Cooper, as the spaced out "Dougie" is not a different character. To say he was a different character would be like saying someone is a different person when they are sick or asleep. He's still Dale Cooper, just not fully awake.
For me it proves that there will be no new tulpa...
Special agent Dale Cooper
Mr C.
Dougie Coop
original Dougie Jones
If there's a second Dougie coming (or third depending on how you look at it), maybe the actor is going to play that as a copy of Agent Coooper. On reflection, I think that KM is thinking of characters as the changes in his acting rather than the identifiable character. Original Dougie is one, Agent Cooper is one, Mr. C. of course, and the Dougie after the switch that we saw for most of the season. If there will be another Dougie made from Cooper's hair and the pearl, maybe he will be similar in style to Agent Cooper? We'll see!

I thought that, too--then I was trying to think of it from an acting point of view, since KM always refers to Dougie as a separate character.
If Dale Cooper and Mr. Jackpots are considered different characters, then something probably will go wrong in creating the new tulpa and original Dale Cooper will be forced to cross the red door in Lancelot Court (random name? I don't think so) and live his life as Douglas Jones. A possible "good" ending.

Not really. That would be like Neo from the Matrix settling into life as Ward Cleaver (from Leave it to Beaver). Not really believable, but "happy," sure I'll buy that. ?
While I think that a new Dougie tulpa would be a little better guy given the source...we don't know that. New Dougie could be the same as old Dougie. Or perhaps we won't get to meet new Dougie but briefly or at all.
I think his perspective on the 4 are almost certainly:
Dale
Damaged Dale
Mr. C
Dougie
Those are the 4 main acting jobs, if you look at it that way.
Dale Cooper, Mister C, Douglas Jones and Killer BOB

Not Killer BOB! That's always Frank Silva.
Don't forget Mini Cooper with his owl ring :

Agree. When he said "I am your father" he didn't mean it literally. It's a role--a very important one--as he's ascending to a higher plane. He's becoming the Father of humankind. He's not going to be bumping into Sarah Palmer in the grocery store buying Janey-E's sugar for cake on a regular basis.
