I am beyond happy that coop finally returned, I love that his experience as Dougie had an impact on him..... thought it was classy of lynch and frost not to totally have Cooper leave the jones' but I am not betting the farm that he will make it back to vegas

meanwhile......

poor Diane, raped, manufacturerd / possibly killed by dople coop only to end up in the black lodge .... damn

i am actually sad to see the series come to an end

my question for the forum can Cooper defeat the doppelgänger or has he used up all of his luck ?

He's not 'making it back to Vegas', it's pretty clear in the episode: he's asking MIKE for Dougie's seed (i.e. the golden orb) and giving him a hair to help create a new Dougie for Janey-E, as he implies to her later (that Dougie will come back.)

I'm thinking this tulpa, being based on Good Coop, will (1) inherit the qualities of his creator rather than Mr. C's, (2) be lacking the memories acquired by 'bad' Dougie. So we might get someone closer to 'our' Dougie, but able to communicate properly. I don't know. Janey-E is a great character, I'm pretty sure she and her son will be very happy. Maybe she'll keep in touch with Good Coop in secret (as a friend), but I doubt so. I personally would have preferred to see Coop deal with the Twin Peaks mysteries & Mr. C, and then actually come back to Janey-E and retire in Vegas. I mean, he implied in the original show that he'd very much want that kind of life IIRC, and Dougie no longer has any money issues, and has many friends back in Vegas.

PS: not MUCH of a spoiler, but Dougie & Janey-E's situation should normally be addressed in Part 18. (Select text to view.)

I'm in agreement. The new Dougie won't be such a philandering gambling addicted asshole. All ends well for the Jones family and Special Agent Dale is freed to lead the Blue Rose Task Force. Good on you, Coop!
