Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
I'm wondering now if what happened to Annie will even be explained in the Final Dossier.
I do hope your theory is correct re: Coop asks Norma about her and we get some kind of explanation. Unless, of course, the alternate/parallel history/dimension idea pans out, then we may never know. That could lead to a large chunk of season 2 as having never happened.
The biz in TSHOTP that retcons Norma's family is very curious. That said, I hooe we find out what happened to Annie. I just don't think we'll LIKE it (if there is one thing I believe as deeply as I believe Paul is dead, it is that Annie is too, at Dale's hand, in the hospital).
You mean Mr. C. , Dale Cooper is a good guy.
As has been mentioned before, asked about the book being tied to the new show: "That's Mark Frost's vision of Twin Peaks." - David Lynch
I definitely hope to hear more about Annie in the remaining two episodes, and the nurse who stole the ring, too. She couldn't just pocket the ring and go, could she?

History, not vision. The quote from Lynch used the word history. There's a big difference.
Annie is the entire reason Dale entered the Red Room and got trapped for 25 years in the first place. I don't see how this isn't addressed in some manner.
It is true that she was the immediate catalyst for his entry through those curtains. But the story is past that now. It is about something well beyond his love for her. It doesn't really matter why he went in, so the Annie question doesn't need resolution.
Jocelyn, I don't need resolution of the Annie question. I don't need anything. I want resolution.
As I've said in another thread, she came out of the lodge/waiting room, had the ring on and possibly knew that the Cooper that came out with her isn't the real one. I'd say bad Cooper killed her the first chance he got her away from everyone.
Yes, she did know and she had the ring on. There's a scene in FWWM's Missing Pieces with her waking up in Hospital and saying the same line Laura wrote in her diary to a nurse. The nurse later steals the ring.
If Mr.C visited Audrey in her coma, he could have also visited Annie and killed her with that ninja jaw maneuvre.

Hah! He doesn't seem to be getting much of what he wants. Want on!
I've always found it very strange that some random nurse would steal a patient's ring. It's not like it looks valuable nor is it particularly fashionable. It would be silly to include the theft at all if it wasn't meaningful in some way. Since we never see Annie again why bother showing that she no longer has the ring?
FWWM script/TMP:
234. INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - NIGHT A NURSE mops the sweat from Annie's forehead. Annie tries to get thru to her. ANNIE My name is Annie. I've been with Laura and Dale. The good Dale is in the lodge and he can't leave. Write it in your diary. The nurse pats Annie's forehead and takes her hand. We see _TERESA/LAURA'S_RING_ on Annie's ring finger. The nurse gently slides the ring off Annie's finger. 235. INT. ANOTHER ROOM IN THE HOSPITAL The nurse enters. With an anticipatory smile, then a selfish laugh,
she puts the ring on her finger.

In the very least, it means Annie, if she did die, didn't go back to the Lodge. Although she was the bait for Cooper to go there, I don't think keeping her soul there would be of particular interest.
As for the nurse, she could've been ~charmed into taking it by something/someone...
