haha i've been thinking how great it would be to hear him sing 'Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey' again!

Thats the song that was running through my head while I was writing this ?
There is still time. We may yet hear his resounding serenade.

I loved that scene where he came to the Great Northern singing that song. Jerry and Ben joined right in, dancing on the tables. They were so spontaneous and fun and just bounced right off Leland's odd behavior without questioning it. They really knew how to ham it up back in those days.

Lol and I love that you compared it to James.
Leland may be "dead." But he is still in the lodge. Have they no singing there?
Great thread. Yes, I miss Leland's singing.
While they didn't want to reveal Laura's killer, it was such an amazing shock back in 1989/1990 when I found out it was Leland. Leland's likability and despair made it really shocking. His death scene was very powerful. The Leland reveal through his death was another way that Twin Peaks changed TV: the horror of "her father did that!?!?!?!"
My absolute least favorite parts of FWWM are the depictions of Leland. In most scenes he acted like a cheezy, disgusting creep. It would have been so much creepier and effective if he were shown as a loving father - other than a handful of scenes where it was obvious Bob had taken over. I might be saying that because I liked Ray Wise's Leland in the original run so much, but I thought Lynch made a mistake with Leland in FWWM.
Maybe we'll have him in the waiting room singing chatanogga choo-choo backwards
I was hoping for Begin the Beguine. He never did get to sing that one.

I was really crossing my fingers for some Celine or Whitney.

Oh no. Anything but that. Two singers I absolutely cannot stand. I'd rather gouge out my eyes with a rusty fork.

Little Jiimy Scott sang "under the sycamore trees"
lynch puts the musical emphasis on the endings in this show...rightfully so...this Lessie song was worth it...
