I take the store as a electrical traveling hub.

i think u r right. the pun being the convenience of electricity.

Stay tuned.

In one of the next episodes, Convenience Store 'll be connected to pole #6 in Twin Peaks.

... finally--this one really bugs me--why was Fireman in the Black Lodge (as seen in FWWM)?

I'm sorry if any or all of these have been addressed prior; I don't get a lot of free time.

I see that area as the Waiting Room or Red Room, not necessarily as the Black Lodge. I think it's like a threshold, limbo, or purgatory type location that is porous enough to allow our dimension and other dimensional creatures to inhabit it.

It might also be one of the easiest ways for one dimension's entities to enter another dimension, particularly before the atomic explosion and electricity facilitated the intercourse between 2 worlds.

I think the camera following the electricity lines and poles that Andy saw and that was shown before Mr. C arrives at the Convenience Store are meant to evoke the highways that humans built that enable these other dimensional entities to travel and interact with our world.  So Pole 6 is important to our story, but in a way so is probably every other electricity pole, just not necessarily to this story.

As an aside, I wonder if the boy's spirit that crossed the electricity lines at Pole 6 will show up somewhere again.

I have wondered this myself. I think we might also see a reincarnation. However, Carl seeing the boy's soul rise from his body may be what was important, so we may not see it/the boy again.
