In the electrical flash, just before we see the Jumping Man/Sarah, you can see that the machine he has by him seems to be the back of an old, 78rpm- playing juke box.
Perhaps that is a reflection of the cosmology of the Other Places. There are multiple planes, and entering the correct input directs you to the correct plane.
This would explain Naido in oart 3...
