Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
the difference now to back then is us feeling future and past is everywhere, so we must take that into account on the old TP too.. I also think the theory gaining ground regarding Laura knowing she would get killed about Bob and so on,,
I think Laura will be Laura played by Sheryl Lee when she finally appears. I don't think she's already around and inhabiting one of the other characters we've seen.
Agreed. Laura is lost in the Other Place, perhaps held in the same prison Phillip Jeffries is in. This might explain why it looks like the motel.
did u say prison?
Because we've already met Laura.......
Only in the Lodge. Not out in our world.
I'm going to throw a big if in here but IF that face thing Sarah did has been with her all her life (frog-moth? Mother? Jumping man?) and according to Leland Bob was with him as a child then Laura is the child of two potentially evil spirits and was created by the fireman to stop them having a Lynchian version of the anti-christ.

I did! Much compelling speculation in other threads that the place he is being held is, in essence, a prison.
I'm with you in that theory too. If that was the black lodge we saw then it's basically a hell and him being in the teapot bell thing is his punishment

This was my first thought after the Sarah and Truck You scene. Definitely think it's plausible. My wording in a part 14 thread was the Fireman said to the thought of such a union and child, "nuh uh, nope, not on my watch." A little less compelling than "stop them having a Lynchian version of the anti-Christ." Haha. Nicely put.
Laura is one of my favourite TP characters (there are so many to choose from!). During these dry TP-less decades I practically learned her diary by heart, having no tapes. Only recently I watched FWWM and my admiration just grew.
My wish (I don't dare to call it a theory) is to see Cooper, in whatever form, "finding" grown-up Sheryl Lee as Ghost Laura, giving her a chance to reunite with the good part of Leland and depart with him (Leland) to the White Lodge. Maybe even re-humanizing Sarah in the process. The Little Girl dispelling the Mother, with the help of love. I'm not being sappy, it's obvious that the theme of love is still very strong in this show, see the Nadine-Ed-Norma scene.
I'm already cushioning myself for the inevitable crushing of my hopes.
theres a big chance this will happen.
contextually: it seems like laura has open business with the living world
technically: both Lee and Wise won't be going home with only a tiny scene. Every old cast member had a great/big scene. they will too (at minimum).
Any preference in what shoes you d like Laura to be wearing?
Laura will appear barefoot, of course. Just to blow our shoe-obsessed minds. 😀
