Lol maybe Linda is the answer we'll get when someone asks 'what is your name' in #18 😉
(I've argued the name is more likely to be female anyway!)
If Richard and Linda are brother and sister, I think it's more likely that they are half brother / sister.
Maybe Audrey is only the mother of Richard. If Mr C is the father of both, and we assume he did do a nasty deed, who was the second woman?
If I recall, Mr C asks Richard "who is your mother?". And Richard replies with Audrey Horne.
This could imply, if Mr C has fathered children, that he has fathered multiple.
The same question is also asked in EP14 by the girl in the roadhouse. "Who is your mother?". And she replies with "Tina".
It's an odd question to ask anyone IMO.
Diane is mother #2 And the traumatic experience she is avoiding to share about her last meeting with mr. C is related to the child (a kidnapping perhaps).

oops. that is so right.
I don't think Linda has been born yet. Remember that The Fireman may be talking to Cooper some way into the future. In the timeline we are following, Mr C has not yet got someone else pregnant - or maybe Diane is pregnant and Linda has not been born yet.
I had a few "out there" ideas of who Linda could be (but not sure I'm correct now):
Possibly be an existing character's middle name instead of a first name.
Richard's wife or girlfriend that we haven't met yet (as crazy as that sounds).
My head hurts from all the flip flopping i do on theories I think of and then I read someone else's and change my mind. I just like the idea of Richard and Linda being related. 2 birds 1 stone. And Candie is so full of innocence and Richard is not, a Yin and Yang situation .
Im guessing Candie can be anywhere from 20 to 25 years old
The actress who plays Candie, Amy Shiels, is actually just 26, so that makes the age about right, IMO. The guy who plays Richard, who looks like a kid to me, is actually 32. I think it's a good theory, though, and could work.
Two birds one stone might not have anything to do with being related in a sibling way, which everyone is thinking (myself included).
Could the stone represent a ring (as in the stone of a ring). Like Ruby.
Birds. There are two characters with birds for names. Hawk. And Red (I think redbird is a bird? Rings a bell).
I'm just waxing lyrical. I have no idea. Just testing other possibilities!
First of all, I don't think Linda is missing. I think she knows right where she is and just because WE can't find her, does not make her missing. 😀
Second, 2 birds, 1 stone; maybe are making this more complicated than it is intended. Maybe the Fireman said that in the most literally figurative way, take care of 2 issues with 1 method.
Your comment about stones as names, like Ruby, got me musing on who else is named for a type of stone. Jade is one I can think of.
I believe the name Red is supposed to evoke the color and the Red Room. I never thought of the possible bird connotation.

The green glove of justice!

I agree the clue may not be straightforward. Even if this is to be taken at face value, 'two birds with one stone' is not a phrase which means two things are together of are the same, that is 'birds of a feather'. I'm inclined to think the phrase should be taken too literally - we are looking for three things, two of them are birds and one of them is a stone. After all, the Giant does not say the actual phrase which is 'kill two birds with one stone' which suggests something entirely different from just 'two birds with one stone'.
Hmmm, with that thinking in mind.
Hawk
Owl
Mountain
I just realized if you take the first letter from each word Owl , Hawk, Mountain it spells OHM
I wonder if Linda is the 119 lady.
Probably complete bollocks but you should be getting used to that by now.
fullgomenikas, I think that's an interesting connection you made with Ruby being Linda.
There is something particularly odd about how limp she appears when they pick her up. It looks like she can move her legs, but it also gives the appearance that maybe she can't stand on her own. And perhaps the wheelchair, crutches, or whatever she uses to get around are conveniently out of frame, intentionally depriving us of a valuable visual clue. That would tie her back in with Mickey's story.
I also thought it was because she was seeing something from red room or elsewhere, like Dougie saw the evolution of the arm in the sidewalk or Mike in the floor near the fireplace. But I think even if she was crawling like that because she had a vision near the floor, that doesn't mean it's not also because she has difficulty walking.
And as it relates to two birds with 1 stone, maybe Ruby/Linda is the 1 stone...?
