I have tried browsing through threads looking for an answer to something (the lack of a forum search is frustrating). So I figured that rather than starting a new thread, I would ask here.

What is the location shown in the opening of each episode/part after Laura's image fades? It looks like a mountain road leading to some kind of building, but I can't make it out. The closest guess is the Sheriff's office, but I didn't think it was so remote. Any ideas?

needs a new thread. will start it and throw in a theory i have about this place

EDIT: done  http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/discuss/twin-peaks-part-15/opening-credits-location/

Other theory, the facility seen in the opening titles is " SETI Array 7-1" known as "Listening Post Alpha", top secret military place where Major Briggs worked.
A facility on Blue Pine Mountain.
Major Briggs was reported to have died in a fire in this station.

Episode 14, sherif Truman and Bobby conversation near Jack Rabbit Palace :
- This used to be the road, where we're walking.
- My dad's listening post station was right through there.
Nothing left of it now.
Took everything away.
- And what all did your father do up there, Bobby?
- I don't know. It was all top secret.
Took me inside a couple times when I was little, but all I remember is lots and lots of machines.

We know that something extremely important is going to happen on Blue Pine Mountain.
The Log Lady to Hawk :
- Watch for that one. The one I told you about. The one under the moon on Blue Pine Mountain.

Something with Mother and Cooper.

Last message received by Briggs at the station, the name COOPER is named 3 times :
