The post assasination scene with Hutch and Chantal in the car reminded me of scenes in Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. (Also the Utah scene). Anyone else think the same?

I and others have seen similar nods to Kubrick. Is Lynch intentionally nodding to Tarantino's work?

Given how much  Tarantino has been influenced by Lynch , I think  it might be just a more general "clap back".

Chantel and Hutch have seemed to me to be Tarantino references all along.

That makes sense. The master/teacher giving props to the student.

There have been a lot of "love letters" to the movies throughout the series. Down to Hulk – Fist Freddie  as a nod to superhero mythologies and movies.

And with all the references to his own work, it's almost as if he's saying goodbye to the medium. Hope not but he is 71.

All I know is that Chantal's diet is just terrible.  Did you see all the cheetos bags in her hotel room when she first shows up?

Yes indeedy. Roth is decent in Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and The Hateful 8.

Chantal is a lot more calm, cool and collected than Honey Bunny was though.

Chantal is probably how Mia would have ended up, if not for Marsellus.

OT but sort of relevant, I have a cat named Marsellus, after the character.  Mrs Therapy wouldn't let me name the others Jules, Vincent and Butch, though.

Mia would be the name of all my children and pets and more if I were allowed to name them (her acting in Nymphomaniac emphazied this for me - Goddess).

We did have a mouse named Mia, and one called Esmerelda.  Again, Mrs Therapy put her foot down and wouldn't let me call the third one Yolanda.  She named that one Rose.

In a rare case of recycling pet names, we now have a cat named Rose.  Mom to Marsellus and his siblings.
