I am having a hard time understanding the Gersten and Steven scene.

Anybody have any insight?

They talk about «going up there», «when I see you come up», a few times. Steven not knowing where will it be once he gets up there. «will it be with the rhinoceros?», «the lightening in the bottle?», «or will I be like completely turquoise?»...

I kind of think they found a passage way in the sky.

Thoughts?

I was more interested in the fact Gersten is wearing a key around her neck

After we hear the gun shot, she looks in the sky and seems to be looking for the vortex.

Yep, I was juste about to mention that. Trying to find a parallel with the locked door Mr. C encountered earlier in the episode.

«I did do it» said Steven... What did he do or what did he think he did?

Steven had to have killed Becky while high. The dialogue makes more sense that way and so does pointing out their trailer with what looks like a bullet hole in the next scene.

If that's the route they took than it underlines the patterns of violence, especially towards women, endemic to the town of Twin Peaks.

Seems plausible. But the broken window was caused by a red coffee mug.

Possible drug ranting. He was talking of shooting himself, Gersten was trying to talk him out of it. He could have meant up a mountain or something.

I thought that Steven was convinced he did something but Gersten was trying to tell him he was just high, he only thought he did... something.  I need to rewatch it.  But definitely feels like there's no way to make a good guess without more info.

Was very curious about the key but totally missed her ring though.  Will look for that.

He wanted to commit suicide together with Gersten and make it look like Becky killed them.

Whether they are tripping or not, I get a sense that something catastrophic has happened. It also looks like they have seen something in those woods at some point.

I don't know about the framing Becky part. What I glean is:

1. Steven did something that he doesn't think he can come back from. Something that Gersten was him to blame on someone else (Becky?)

2. They are both pretty altered.

3. Steven is definitely planning suicide, and in his drug-addled state, speculating on ehat he will find "on the other side".

4. Steven is scratching his leg petty hard. I bet there is a RASH under there. I think those Chinese Designer Drugs that seem to be coming from Red, with Richard dealing, are the source for a lot of the messed up youth scenarios we have seen in the roadhouse.

I'm with Karen in that it just seemed like gacked out ranting by a couple of junkies.  Heard similar conversations myself back in my much younger years.

Of course, this is TP so there's a probability that it means more.  Or it's about the Key around her neck. Who knows.

As for the the guy walking his dog, DUDE, when you see a couple of people (junkies or not) getting it on in the woods, don't stop and stare.  Just keep walking!
