Likely been said before - I haven't read all these threads.
Also, not from 15, but what the hell...
Episode 11, about 40 minutes, 50 seconds in, Dougie has a recollection of when Mr. C killed um.... the old dude that procured a car for him back a ways. Just before he went to the motel to meet Darya.
Not only does it seem like there is a shared memory, but it may be more explicit and acute for Mr. C being that he isn't walking around in a daze all the time. Dougie may have his faculties dimmed across the board, or maybe the memories are faint and fleeting. Gotta be there tho, right?
Edit: or it's a time-line twist I haven't sussed out yet.
Which scene is that? I stream the show so not easy for me to jump to exact moments.
C killed (jack?) either via or shortly after giving his jowls a good swirl. He hooched him like a bloodhound, or, well it's a tough act to describe. Worked his masseter like a fluffer? That's no better. Cheek massaged him to death.
Dougie then is instructed to "knock em dead" by Battlin' Bud, and on the strike of "dead" Dougie instinctively reaches for his cheeks and lamely imitates the action looking startled the whole time. I'm convinced, but it's open for interpretation, as with all Lynchian/Frostian things.
Ah yes, never thought of it that way. Good spot. As for the shared conscious stuff, possibly. Bad Cooper seems to know that Dougie is still alive (whether he knows Cooper is now Dougie is a different matter) despite all the efforts to kill him so maybe.
