Hey guys!
As a fan of Donna I can't help but feel a tiny bit disappointed presuming we won't get any details about her character and what has happened to her in these 25 years. But I have moved on passed that and have enjoyed the hell out of The Return so far :).
Still, I am interested in sharing possible hypotheses about her. Do you guys think she died in that accident in which James was in? Or what do you come up with?
I enjoyed seeing Gersten, especially in episode 15. Her scene along Steven was very powerful, and something in her reminded me greatly of Donna.
Love to my fellow Peakers!
I miss Donna, too. One of the most humane and sincere Twin Peaks residents.
She might have left the town soon after S02, finding it hard to live with her family after discovering all that she had discovered by the end of the season and deciding never to return to Twin Peaks again - the town where she lost her friend, her boyfriend, and her confidence about her family. Sad, but totally understandable, I think.

I think this is probably the most likely explanation.
After FWWM, I see another likely result. Donna, not to mention James and Audrey too, had a real talent for getting themselves in deadly trouble. Maybe Donna is the one of the bunch that finally paid the ultimate price. My money would have been on Audrey, then James, so Donna was my last pick being she seemed to have a brain in her head. FWWM completely changed my view of Donna for the worse. Before that, I considered her the nerdy member of the show's kids club. After that, more tag along best friend willing to do just about anything.
Perfectly possible!

Oh, I'm watching FWWM right now 🙂
I agree that the Donna in the movie is strikingly different from the Donna in the series, but it looks plausible enough: Laura was, obviously, the brightest girl in the school (in terms of appearances, not academic successes, of which we know next to nothing), Donna was a typical quiet girl from a good family, and together they made a very typical pair of friends. After Laura died, Donna had no friend to tag along anymore, for one thing, and for another, she decided to investigate Laura's death, and this required a lot of efforts which changed her significantly, in my opinion.
Interesting take Anna, I am sure she was changed. BTW, I see you live in Russia. I spent a month in your country back in 1994. Couple weeks in Moscow, a week in St. Petersburg, and a week at a country vacation area I seem to remember being called Rockava near collective farmers.
I just need one line from James. I just need him to mention Donna on someway to give us something.
"She died on my bike.
Or She went to college and never came back
Or she met a guy named Mr C and she disappeared "
something. Anything.
