I have been thinking for awhile that when Coop snaps to/comes back, he will have all of his doppelganger's memories, and it will be HARD. Part of this just has to do with how I am interpreting the doppelganger thing, and how I have thought about that for years, but I think there are some indications in the new stuff that hint toward something like this...

A flashback that shows us what happened "that night" with Diane is probably too much to hope for, and could be hard with the actors' ages and so on, but I am wondering if when the giant/Fireman tells Cooper to "Remember Richard and Linda" he might be referencing something that is about to happen. Mr. C is now with Richard, at least.

And it is at least possible that the Mr C. timeline is a day or two behind the other ones. I still can't decide if he is texting with Diane or not... But even if he isn't, which is where my money lies, what we just saw with him could be a day or two before what we saw elsewhere. We didn't even check in with him for like 3 episodes, recently.

Recall Leland, once Bob left him. I think we may be in for something like that with our beloved Agent Cooper...

Sound reasoning. I am in agreement that Coop will remember. Should be a powerful scene if true. He may initially have a bout of amnesia pertaining to the last 25 years and then it'll all hit him at once: his time in the Red Room and Mr C's actions.

Interesting idea re: Linda and quite plausible.

"Recall Leland, once Bob left him. I think we may be in for something like that with our beloved Agent Cooper..."

That particular portion above raised something else that I hadn't thought about: it's possible that even Mr C didn't know all that he had done over the last 25 years until Bob was removed from him. But, if Bob wasn't removed and is still with him then . . . could make things more interesting later on.

I think Cooper could use it. As much as I love the old quirky wide yes innocent Specialty Agent, it's been 25 years of hell?.Or something. He should have an edge to him.

I do think Bob is still with Mr C. So, yeah, that is something interesting to think about!

And, agreed, Brandy. I think it would be more interesting than just giving us the ol' Coop back, and that's part of why I think this might be where we are going.

Is it Sunday night yet?

Recall Leland, once Bob left him. I think we may be in for something like that with our beloved Agent Cooper...

Something you said got me thinking.

Was BOB permanently in Leland, or just sometimes? He certainly wasn't continuously under his control.

When Leland was dancing or singing Mairzy Dotes, was that BOB or Leland?

I know these are old questions from the OS, but it's pertinent for the next few episodes. If BOB is in Mr C, is he just dwelling inside him and has control when needed?

Mr C's "good, you're still with me" comment at the prison mirror suggests the latter.

Perhaps Mr C wants BOB to inhabit The Experiment or Naido, and that's his plan.

Just thinking out loud based on your comments 🙂

I agree though. I think our Coop will have an emotional time when he returns.

From what we have been told, I take it that Bob was inside Leland from the time he was a child. As you note, though, sometimes Bob seems to have been dormant. The singing and dancing strikes me as Bob related - recall when they tell him they have arrested Ben and he then grins in the hallway, etc.

I think things are bit different with Mr C., perhaps because he is a doppelganger rather than a normal human being. I'm thinking about him laughing with Bob in the lodge at the end of season 2. So, their arrangement strikes me as a bit more of a partnership. I don't know.

Speaking of Leland's singing, I was watching the episode the other night where he is swerving back and forth on the road singing "Surrey with the Fringe on Top" and when it cuts to Cooper and Truman in the other car, Cooper is whistling the same song. It's always been there, and I had perhaps noticed before, but now with the events of The Return, I cannot stop thinking about this.

I have read some Reddit user spoiled Laura Palmer's whispering to Dale Cooper in Part 2:  "You're going in, so ask your son Sonny Jim about me."

https://youtu.be/Yt7GRq6Rtvw

Volume to the max and use your headphones, otherwise you won't hear anything.

Say goodbye to Mr. Jackpots, when he wakes up from electrocution I think he will be another person. Could be a case of auditory illusion, but given DKL's twisted mind – lucky for us 😉  – I'm going to buy this hypothesis.

HAHA weird visual of BOB/Silva dancing around singing.  Wish someone would make a gif of that or something.

Well, Cooper's body is still on the ground in Vegas and I don't think (at least I don't hope) DKL is going to kill Dale in such a stupid way. So I think he will wake up, in one way or another. No spoiler here, just my hypothesis (not sure it will happen in part 16).

It is currently 7.30pm GMT.

I shall hopefully be sticking it on the ol' telly in an hour or so.

Hopefully 🙂

And of course, I shan't even give a wink as to what happens

Whether Coop remembers all of Mr C's wrongdoing or not, I imagine he's going to be somewhat less than pleased about being stuck in the Red Room for 25 years.  Can also imagine he'll have a good idea that Mr C didn't spend all the time taking crochet lessons and doing flower arranging, too.

So, yes, he'll have enough reason to want a bit of a quiet word with Mr C and his buddies.

Assuming Laura Palmer's "decoded" whispering from Part 2 is true, I think Dale Cooper (or what remains of Mr. Jackpots, if you want) needs to talk to Sonny Jim. Don't know the reason, though (technically he's not either his biological father).

Dale Cooper is an FBI agent first and foremost.  I believe his instinctive reaction as a professional will override his personal response. Will he be shocked, angry and want revenge against Mister C? Yes!  But most of all, I think he'll do his job, which does not involve his personal feelings/motivations.  He's gonna kick some ass.
