Is it just me or do Billy and Dougie Coop have the same speech pattern of repeating the last thing said to them???
It's not just you, however, the "Drunk" is much more active in his parroting and more aware of what he's doing. I gotta ask though, "Where's Billy?".
Could the "Drunk" have experienced something similar to Mr. Jackpots? Could his face injury be related to the passage through an electrical outlet (or some other Lodges related stuff) whereas Cooper only leaved his shoes (and the tip of a sock)? I remember Cooper's deformed face in Part 3 while leaving American Girl's room.
Is Billy positively identified as the repeater? Not that I don't believe it, I'm just curious.
The way Billy figures in Audrey's delusions and young women's conversations reminds me of Billy in IE. Just as Billy is a typical man's name, Billy plays a typical role in women's stories. Namely, he seduces them (hypnotizes them) and is associated with infidelity (either Billy or the woman are always married). All this comes across most clearly in Natassja Kinski's deleted scene (More Things That Happened) found here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6fOEJ0AgtE And of course, they all have the feeling that "they've met before"
In that scene, when Billy's name gets mentioned, the music turns ominous. But, what's important to me is that this friend of Nikki's, a random character, has the exact same story to tell as Nikki and Sue and Lost Girl and all the women in IE --just as Laura & Maddy & . . .(Diane & Audrey). . . have the same story to tell in TP. Just as the record keeps spinning, the same stories go round and round, and everybody's trapped in the same narratives.
