"The plain fact was she was afraid of that world outside. Afraid it would remind her that time had passed."

And of course, that line comes from the character who is narrating the story and who at the beginning is dead in a swimming pool
i watched sunset blvd a few nights ago. it had been years since i'd seen it & i'd definitely forgotten all about gordon cole. my ears pricked up at the mention of a vicuna coat but i didn't catch any other twin peaks tie-ins.
Have you all read the theories about Audrey trapped in wood?

Another possible tie-in is that the Gloria Swanson character is named Norma Desmond (Norma Jennings and Chet Desmond)

I'm now picturing you with a Christmas sweater... and...errr... lots of teeth...
*scurries off*
Harold was like that, though I think secretly he feared the dark forces around TP. "You have infected me!"
The bar where Albert found Diane was named Max Von's and the logo was a director's megaphone. In Sunset Blvd, Norma's butler/companion's name was Max Von Mayerling and he had been a director (and was played by former director, Erich Von Stroheim.)
Also, Audrey is looking for Billy. The director of Sunset Blvd was Billy Wilder.

That's all pretty brilliant for being drunk!
As to what will stand, who knows, but I like the connections.
OOooH, she is trapped in the walls of the Great Northern. That is perfect.
Interesting idea. Wasn't Josie's actress told they could not bring her back because they couldn't figure out how to make that fit in the story line (or something similar)? If you were going to go down the wood route you would think that would make it more likely to be possible. Maybe someone else remembers better the whole story behind Josie not coming back. I thought she or the creators made some comment about it.
That Reddit link is pure gold. Ghost + Wood!
IMHO, the wooden hell would be Charlie's not hers.
