Are you, perchance, actually a walrus?
Is this a bad time to mention my real name is Paul?
So are you dead and yet you live?
Is SamXTherapy your doppelganger?
Suddenly quoting A Day in a Life?? A bar with "#9" in its name?
I have figured out the ultimate secret of Twin Peaks.
Paul is dead.
(-;
(see part 13 thread if you are confused. Not promising you will then be LESS confused...)
MJ--that's why Audrey uses Paul to scare Charlie (the only thing that seems to freak him out at all). In Charlie's world, Paul has always been dead! 🙂
And, as we know, a decapitated man is yrev very scary.
All kidding aside, it's obvious that Lynch is a major Beatles fan, and the White Album in particular. That's probably where he got the idea for all the backwards speech.

He even interviews Macca and Ringo at the end of his Catching The Big Fish book to talk about Transcendental Meditation.
Ooh - a Paul / Fireman performance at the Roadhouse in the offing? ?
I just love this explosion of Beatles references in the show and the forum. I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping...

To the best of my knowledge, "Rain" is the first instance of backwards recording in music ever. Anyone have an earlier?
Hi MJ,
Believe it or not, in 1913 (Magick Book 4) Aleister Crowley advised that the backwards playing of phonographs was good training for magicians (who long to see :-)). =:-O
In the movie Gold Diggers of 1935 (who used double-gold-painted shovels, I'll bet ;-)), the end of the dancing pianos musical number "The Words Are in My Heart" is filmed in reverse motion with the accompanying music incidentally reversed.
However, as far as I can tell "Rain" was the first song to have a backmasked message.
And, of course, there was a lot of backmasking in the "Paul Is Dead" controversy - "Turn me on, dead man," and "Paul is dead, miss him, miss him, miss him." =:-O
😉

You're fixing a hole where the "Rain" gets in....

How can you sleep?
Let's not also forget that both Paul and John lost their MOTHERS at a young age...
In episode 2 of this here season, we see a train go by in the night.
We all know what a train sounds like, don't we.
coo coo cachoo...
R.I.P. Paul
