Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
I am pretty sure I mentioned it somewhere in Part 1&2 topic as a very first scene of this show, even before the black and white Cooper/ Giant one. I remember it very well cause I was mesmerised by it. All these emotions, curiosity, waiting and now it begins. Pretty sure you all know how it felt:) Anyways something was telling me it's not coincidence to choose and beautifully edit this particular one. And now we saw it again, wow! But back in 21th May I was thinking it's some prediction of another teen murder in Twin Peaks. Now I am not so sure. But what's the significance of this this terrified girl running away?
I think it was originally intended to be a student who overheard the news given to the principal and was overwhelmed by the revelation and represents the impact on the student body. Any more reveal on that particular character would seem awfully forced.
"Yes, I'm that girl that ran across the courtyard when the faculty was told about Laura Palmer's death."
Yes, I agree, it's about emotions this scene represents, not about the particular person. That's pretty obvious. But what emotions? The fact that it is happening again? Laura Palmer and her case is back in town?
It was one of the fragments Andy saw in the White lodge right? That looked like a symbolic language driven to a subconscious level. It doesn't necessarily means anything or predicts, it's more about a general danger and human fragility. It's a very evocative scene as you said
