Thinking as a writer.... I think cooperhas to wake up at the end of ep16... ep15 will be about the FBI seaeching "that" Douglas Jones... the FBI in vegas will inform to the local police and thats when the fuscos info, even if is in the toilet, will be important...
And episode 16 has to build the mood for the awake... that happen at the end...
So they build a huge expectation for the season finale... and then we have a two hour "movie" with a lot of cooper...
I think thats the way its gonna happen... of course I dont know the reasons for the awake(shoes, sonny-jim die... who knows)
... but everyone is waiting for this. Why wake him up in some "random" episode now... doit just before the finale will generate more expectation for those episodes....
My guess for the double-header: Coop-in-Dougie and Tony (because he messed up). Why would Mr. C want Janey-E dead?
Janey-e's connection with Diane COULD give Mr. C reason to want her dead, depending on where that whole plotline goes...
Side note about 3 and 15 and Room 315: Why couldn't they have made it 314, more closely resembling the number pi. Lynch loves circular symbols (eastern religion stuff, donuts, pie), and pi sounds like pie.... Whenever Coop's door was open in the first seasons and we saw across the hall, I wished he was in Room 314. Oh well. If he comes back in Ep. 15, then woohoo!!!
then again, recall how frustrated we all were w Ep. 12. Lynch might be setting us up for purposeful disappointment again. He's absolutely mad!
All of our pre-episode predictions tend to look silly in the harsh light of the lynch/frost logo.
I love having no clue about where this thing is going.

This is a very interesting thought, and one that had not occurred to me. Although, unlike many in this thread, long before the family revelations, my gut was telling me that Janey-E was going to get it, and not Sonny Jim.

Those "I KNOW Audrey has been in a coma this entire time" people will.

The only I KNOW is that I know nothing.

You wrote that in an odd way. You do realize that is Coop, not "Coop in Dougie's body" ?

I stopped predicting. I'm trying to just look and see, like at a series of paintings.
Especially predicting who is going to live or die...I haven't the faintest idea what they are going to do with Janey-E and Sonny Jim. Somehow I don't think Sonny Jim is going to die, but who knows. Maybe we'll have a Doctor Who/Rose type of ending love story where the Dougie version of DougieCoop will get to live in Janey-E's own special reality happily ever after with Sonny Jim, and the real Dale Cooper does something entirely different. I think something is going to happen so that Diane meets up with Janey-E, but that is as far as I'll predict anything. Maybe with Janey-E and two Coops in a room somewhere. Or under the 666 street pole!
Update: Maybe they'll manufacture a new Doppelganger Dougie/Coop (with buff body and cobra-like moves and skills in bed) for Janey-E so Dale can return. Yeah, I know this is getting silly. But that is essentially the Doctor Who/Rose scenario. He wasn't returning though--he had to leave the timeline.
And then there's Duncan Todd to consider, who also messed up for Mr. C. Big time...
I suspect Todd will be taking the same route as Ray did.

Todd really oughtta pack up and head for Patagonia......sooner than later.

This could be the ultimate punishment for Mr. C: to have to replace Dale as Dougie, with Dougie's intellect and abilities, for the rest of his life.

The ultimate punishment for Bob would be to be sent into the body of the orange man in the oval room.
The spotlight on Sonny-Jim. Spotlight is always a bad omen in TP.
I am down with the OP idea, but I also have some competing ideas:
- The local police brothers could play a roll in the battle
- The bad police guy could show up too
- Dougie's new gangster friends might assume he is a target and get involved
