Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
So one of the things I thought would be revisited was Chip and Harvey. I feel we are about to leave Buckhorn in 15 and I don't think this will be resolved. How many dangling plots and stories are there going to be. I am really thinking most of the roadhouse conversations will be left unresolved.
Just curious.
I think things like the Roadhouse conversations serve to illustrate that, "the soap opera still exists, but who really cares?" And, also serves to substantiate existing subplot points. e.g., Audrey. In other words, many subplots are discrete and will not be resolved. Where's Billy?

Who is Linda? Who is Tina? Plus a bunch of other characters that was mentioned but never seen?
What exactly are the roles of old characters we saw briefly (e.g., Jacoby, Carl Rodd, Nadine, Jerry, Ed, etc.) going to be in the endgame, or are their appearances just nonsense distractions.
And whatever happened to the junkie who kept saying 119?

I'm sorry, who are Chip and Harvey?

Chip and Harvey are the people mentioned in episode 1 in Buckhorn from the apartment building where Ruth Hastings lived. One was a maintenance man and another was his brother (I think). He was a bit sketchy and appeared worried when the police were trying to ask him for the key. There was a phone call to another man as well. I forget exactly who's who, but that's the scene they're from.
I think we are done with those boys. I think there is an implication there that they may have abbetted the murder (or at least the placement of the bodies), hence the payoff, but I think there will be bigger fish to fry (or perculate) at this point.

I DO believe that those plot lines that we have seen repeatedly --Jerry in the woods, Jacoby and his shovels, becky and stevens saga--will culminate in something related to the conclusion. They were in there for some reason, but they may just be bit parts in the end. The ongoing hum at the Great Northern is also an ongoing motif which keeps Ben, and now james, part of the end game. It would be sad if Carl Rodd is only there for local color.
I think the Buckhorn story and all of its characters is pretty much over. Not so sure about the Vegas crowd. But I don't see the Mitchum brothers involved in anything in Twin Peaks.
I will really miss the very sight of Duncan Todd if his plot line fades away.
