Hawk, Frank and Bobby do not remember what happened. Near a portal their memory is weakened.
Dianne, Cole, Albert had a hard time remembering what happened when Hastings died.
Cole, Albert just now remembering Philadelphia and Jefferies.

Exposure to a portal and portal entities affects memory. So extend that to Cooper with 25 years of exposure and we can now understand the scramble that is Dougie/ Cooper's memory.

I think everyone gets dougie is a vegetable because of the 25 year span.

That doesn't make how dragged out the dougie thing has been any less painful to watch at this point.

I din't think that's clear at all! It is quite possible that if Dale had emerged as planned, and not been tricked into Dougie, he might have been fine(r).

I think it's been shown ad nauseum that the 25 years f'ed with his head big-time.

He needs the trigger event to unscramble his head.  That may be next episode.

i don't think cooper is so out of it because of 25 years in the lodge, i think his brain was affected when he went through the electrical socket. before he goes through, he talks to naido (asking "where are we?"); after, in dougie form, he can only repeat, walks into glass doors, etc.

Agreed.

The 25 years thing hasn't really been shown to be the culprit at all. If anything, it's been implied that Dougie Coop's brain scramble could be because he was "tricked," per Philip Gerard.

I envision a dougie vs Mr C confrontation, which results in us getting coop back, and thatll be WAY at the end imo.

Yes, indeed.  The Cole discussion about the shooting of the doppelganger in the first Blue Rose case indicates that this is one way (only way?) of resolving the doppelganger dichotomy.  Disturbingly the Doppelganger seems to have been the one who was doing the shooting and later hung herself?

It kind of reminds me of Nolan's the Prestige.

But anyways, nothing was mentioned about one of the two Lois being a vegetable, so I assume Coop could go back to his old self without necessarily killing the doppelganger. Also, I think that while a 25 years vacation on the Lodge might be responsible for some of Coop's dementia, I don't think we can conclusively consider it the reason for it. I wouldn't be shocked if leaving behind his shoes was the actual cause and Naido is responsible for bringing them back.

Time doesn't work in the lodges like it does in our world. This is why Major Briggs barely aged and why Dougie Coop doesn't look particularly old, either, in comparison to actual Dougie or Mr. C. I don't think Dougie Coop's memory issues have much to do with the time span, if anything.

I didn't say just time span, time span and exposure to the portal space. Or as someone pointed out going out the electric outlet. I am just saying the memory loss everyone has had with their short exposure to portals and lodge I am seeing Cooper having 25 years of the scramble. And it isn't a loss but it being out of consciousness.

I still am leaning towards the notion that Cooper will return by getting his shoes back (if he comes back at all). The shoes will ground him.

It would be a good pun, I guess you could put Earth in your pocket to stay grounded.
