How many Beatles' songs were evoked in this episode?
Obviously Freddie alludes to "A Day in the Life" in the scene with James. This was super important given the line he doesn't say, which is "then I went into a dream."
In addition:
Andy seeing Lucy in the lodge evokes "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds."
Sarah Palmer's bar evokes "Number 9" from the White Album and her transformation made me think of "Helter Skelter."
Oh, you are just BEGGING me to get started on Paul's tragic car crash in November of 1966 again, aren't you? (-;
Paul is a doppelganger!!?? Of course.
Remember what Audrey said about Paul.
No real connections...
In Yellow Submarine, the animated Beatles film, someone puns "All you need is Glove". One of the meanies is a large Glove.
("All You Need is Love" also featured in the final episode of 1960s The Prisoner, the weirdest piece of TV ever.)
What about the A-side of sgt. Pepper:
With a Little Help from My Friends: Going to Jack Rabbit's Palace
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds: As suggested above
Getting Better: The good guys did something right here
Fixing a Hole: The Vortex closes
She's Leaving Home: Naido
Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!: Umm, for the benefit of Mr. Kooper?
Everybody's Got something to Hide Except For Me and My Monkey
Hey Jude
There's A Place
If I Fell
Norwegian Wood
Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds
Day In The Life
Birthday
Penny Lane
I laughed loud at "Fixing a Hole."
Tero, I've been thinking a lot about that last episode of the old Prisoner series with the Judy stuff and the monkey mask. The Philip Jeffries' material seems like it might be very influenced by it.
