Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.

We go strolling together
They (the teenagers) certainly went strolling together. If it were a memory of her mother and father, as told by her now deceased mother, it's no wonder the girl might get emotional.
I was going to post this in the Part 8 forum, but wasn't sure if anyone was still looking in there, so....
Anyone think we'll get an answer as to who the two teenage lovebirds were in part 8? Or at least the girl, since the frog thingy crawled into her?
After Sarah Palmer's breakdown at the liquor store, something about her babbling made me think it was her. She did say, "Something happened to me."
But then, if I remember correctly, the Secret History of Twin Peaks says she's a local, which means that she couldn't have been in New Mexico back in the '50s, right?
Great question Matthew!
I personally think that the 1956 girl isn't Sarah. She is just the first girl to fall victim to a parasitic host.
In the Secret History of Twin Peaks (which is canon, I think? lol!), The Log Lady, Carl Rodd and others had supernatural encounters right in Twin Peaks. And Ruth Davenport and Bill Hastings had their own supernatural encounters in South Dakota. And Sam and Tracy had theirs in New York.
So I think (and hope) that the 1956 girl is never identified or explained. It's a beautiful mystery as to who she is, but I believe she is not and never was a resident of Twin Peaks, Washington.
Thank you, Jack. Put like that, now I don't want an answer to it, either.
Really beautifully put. 🙂
Wow, I hadn't thought how the lyrics of James' song might reflect on the buggirl and her beau strolling but yeah!
History has a way of repeating itself...I wonder if we'll see James and Renee go for a stroll soon!
I'm now convinced that the girl whose mouth the bug crawled into is Judy. Don't know who the boy is - might not matter.
It was possession. From the evil egg spewing 'mother'. Simples.
Yeah, I got that far.
The question was about WHO is possessed.
But then Jack's wonderful comment has made me not care as much about that now.

Hopefully Mr. C will run into James once he gets to TP.
I very much doubt, even if Sarah wasn't a local, that she'd be the girl who plays host to the moth froggy thing. The girl is Hispanic, Sarah looks, if anything, of Northern European origin.
I hadn't noticed that before. Just checked on IMDB and the boy seems to be as well.
Rules out most characters from the original series.
I'm not a fan of the girl (1956) is Sarah theory, but while the boy is clearly hispanic, I'd say the girl has more of a caucasian look and you could say that, especially with her curly hair, she reminds a little of Sarah Palmer in these pictures
Again, not much of a supporter of the theory, but I wouldn't say ethnicity is the problem here, while I've always believed it was for the boy (I read somewhere someone even saying he was Phillip Jeffries, which is crazy to me).

James is not amused
Best guess if it is not Sarah is that if they ever go back to the "Judy" notion that she'd be a good fit. I guess you could make her that girl in the original Blue Rose case, and that would loosely explain why Phillip was talking about her in FWWM.
I would like it if she turned out to be Judy who in turn was the blue rose woman. It'd been a nice connection.
But I suppose not everything has to be connected. As Jack mentioned, the mystery is fine too.

No, James is a shmo.
I've spent the last 2 days trying to get that out of my head and you put it right back there!
BTW, has anyone asked if Margaret is the bug mouth girl?
Welcome Cynthia. Btw, I looked for an image of Jessica Szohr (Renee) and it shows her with the same tattoo in real life as well. Maybe it was serendipitous. Would've been cool if they did color it in blue, though 🙂

Olive skin and dark curly hair? I suppose she could be from Wales but that's a real stretch.

What if she's native american and just put curlers in earlier that day?
Well, yes maybe, but definitely not Caucasian.
Native American is one of the few bloodlines I ain't got.
