The plausible explanation was to setup that there were "two Trumans". If you are looking for the old one, he's not around. Still could absolutely be more to it (I'm hoping there is), but there was definitely relevance in terms of advancing the notion that "Sheriff Truman" now refers to a different guy.
Interesting idea. Even if it's wrong, it's still well thought out. Time will tell. Or not.
He/she has made some very interesting and astute observations, but it narrows (for me) with the end presumption/prediction. Great to read though.
