There has been some discussion lately about whether Mr. C has the same info as Dale or ability that Cooper would not have.
I'm starting to think that the 2 are not the light and dark side of the same coin.
Toward the beginning of 13 we see Mr. C teaching nursery school to the Thugs who are presumably at "the farm." Mr. C toys with his arm wrestling opponent for a while without breaking a sweat. He eventually tires of the match, wins with ease, and smashes the front of the opponents face to death (with one punch).
I have serious doubts that Dale Cooper would be capable (mentally OR physically) of doing this. I think that Doppel-Coop has abilities and information that Dale Coop does not. This may be a symptom of BOB still being with him or perhaps being a lodge-born entity or maybe just a side effect of being a colossal asshole. I don't know.
That whole series at the farm just struck me as quintessential Bob. The only hint of the original Cooper I saw there was how he lured them all in with his passiveness, letting that one bloke smack him without reprisal, then during the match he completely destroyed him. Bob can be clever when it suits him.
Most certainly.
I just think it's possible evidence that the body of Mr. C is capable of actions and knowledge that Dale Cooper is not........................................ like how to make a Tulpa?
Don't want to get to far into that in this particular thread since there may be others out there who haven't seen the whole thing upon reading this. Would be real spoiler. 🙂
Ahh, I do see what you are saying! I've watched the entire third series twice, and I'm just not sure if the information is actually there for us to get a true answer. Another reason to hope for another series.
I always thought Mr C was evil because he had Bob. He became a ruthless crime lord and a billionaire bent on finding his coordinates......
I would agree, I totally saw Mr. C as far more Bob than Cooper, by a long shot. I think it was only Cooper in the extent that it let Mr. C basically hide in plain sight.
His construction of his criminal empire is what likely took him off the radar for a while as well. He might have been way too busy making connections and trying to raise money to murder as often as he'd like, although I bet he did some of that on the side ((.

Well, I suppose what we are to take away from the arm wrestling and face punch business is that Doppel Coop is physically empowered by BOB. Though we never saw a Leland/BOB demonstration of such strength, we can maybe assume that it was there if needed. Leland did fell Maddy with one head-to-the-fireplace blow (though it did take several blows for Teresa Banks). He also was poised to whack Cooper with a golf club. So the violence is always present with BOB.
Besides, smashing some low life criminal ring leader in the face was probably doing society a favor.
I thought back when I first watched the episode in the nineties where BoB/Leland killed Madeline that he was definitely augmented, strength-wise. At the beginning, it's like he's an animal playing with his/her food, but when he starts leveling some blows at his victim, those are serious thuds to her face/head. Afterwards, when Cooper almost had a peek in Leland's car boot, I was certain he was going to meet a similar fate, with a golf club.
In the Return, I thought the death of that thug was meant to convey that BoB/dirty Cooper simply doesn't see things like right/wrong. He sees people that can help him get what he wants, or people that are obstacles. And whoa unto those that he deems the latter!!
