One thing I definitely prefer with this forum compared to the Dugpa forum is that we have the ability to create separate topics within each section for each part. On the Dugpa forum, they just have one main thread for each part, and they get HUGE!

But I still find I struggle to keep up with things here. I post comments in various threads but then I probably miss replies to my comments because there are just so many threads to keep track of.

Yep me too. There are some threads that I choose to avoid because, to my new eyes, they've already got mahoosive, and I'm limited on time. Apologies to anyone and everyone I haven't replied to, it's not on purpose!

I also find that subscribing to threads doesn't seem to work as it should...

I didn't even realize you could subscribe to threads.  I just occasionally go back to the activity on my page and recheck any interesting topics to see if there's any more conversation.

Yes, the 'activity' page is my current weapon of choice.

I click on "last post" to go directly to the newest entries in each thread.

I have discontinued trying to read very long posts which don't use paragraphs. They might contain interesting info, but no time to wade through them.

Also have stopped reading threads once they become comic. Sometimes the original posts get hijacked by jokesters and are never answered.

I usually check under "The Conversation is Lively" first, and sometimes the activity page too.

Agree with the OP that this forum is better organized than Dugpa. I also prefer this site's color scheme, easier on the eyes.

This forum is the bookhouse. Our aim is true.

Yes, it is sometimes a deep dive, and I also miss a lot (and sometimes make a point that has already been made, because I missed it), but I love this space- many posters who are wise, perceptive, and kind.

It's a special kind of place, one the world seems to have left behind, but there is a darkness out there in the forest. We are here together, ever vigilant, and we have each others' backs. If you need an extra hand for a rescue mission, I am right there.

and unless Im missing something each thread starts at page 1 and you can only advance 1 page at a time, not jump to the end

There's a little box with a number in it, at the top right.  Click on that and you'll get a drop down, from where you can select the desired page number.

Click on "last post" left side of RSS  line. It takes you to the end, the newest entries.

Hah! You and about 10 others.

Don't mind me. I just have to cut corners somewhere. No time to read it all. I am always struggling, trying to be ready for the next show

Party on, Detective!

First you have to become a drug dealer for a while, then date a woman who ends up getting murdered. I think that's how it works.

I know that, to become a Roadhouse Regular, I needed to take up smoking, chat up the wrong guy, and I seem to have this really annoying rash that I can't stop scratching, loudly.

SamXTx, a Detective! Well-deserved, sir!
