Audrey's Psychosis

Probably a pretty good bet that Audrey is psychologically broken.  I'm guessing that she is under the care of a private doctor paid for by the Horne family.

What drove her to her state?  Brain damage from the explosion?  Subconscious knowledge of being violated by Mr. C while in a coma?  Maybe she's still in a coma?

Something's definitely going on with her (and Charlie). They managed to be in a different room this time, but this episode's scene was no more revelatory than the one in episode 12 (well, except for how Audrey really seems to be having some mental health issues, not knowing who she is, etc.)

And what did Charlie mean by ending her story?

I think it has something to do with her psycho-social mental health therapy.  Charlie is probably her doctor, and he's leading her through some kind of psycho-therapy involving a story that is related to her particular delusions.

That house's decor is right out of 1973.

"Do you want me to end your story?" To quote Mr. Dodgson,"curiouser and curiouser."

"You're supposed to go to the Road House to see if Billy is there." A: "Where is it?"

Also, did Audrey say "This isn't Ghostwood" ?

I thought Charlie's asking Audrey if she wanted him to "end her story" sounded more than vaguely threatening.  That's odd for a therapist, but that's exactly what I think he is.

I'm wondering if the "Has anyone seen Billy?" scene is the precursor to all this with Audrey and Charlie. The jump cuts in people's locations in the restaurant offer reason to assume something just isn't right. Is it all in her head?

That's odd for a therapist,

Well, considering Dr. Jacoby was the only psychiatrist in town for years, I don't know what else to expect from the local mental health scene.

I was very sceptical of the whole "Audrey is married to Charlie, he's her doctor" theory after last week's episode but tonight made me think at the very least she's either had some kind of breakdown or is being kept against her will.

It does seem like Audrey could still be in a coma and hallucinating / dreaming, or in a psych ward doing the same. It's tough to see another beloved character on the rocks. I expect many mysteries to be unresolved at the end of the season, but I hope we get some clarity on Audrey's situation. And if Richard is her son, hopefully he falls off a cliff.

Excuse me, the decor in that house is right out of 1943.

I find myself beginning to side with the folls who think that that whole scene is not "real". Her insbility to actually leave is very fishy.

No it seems likely she is NOT in a coma. Whether he's a therapist, a de-programmer ( seems S. Fenn could use one in real life ), or what, we will have to see.

Charlie's physical appearance may be another clue. Lynch seems fond of using actors with atypical physical qualities (the Giant, Man From Another Place, Mike) to signify an association with the mystical. I'm not suggesting that Audrey is in a Lodge or anything like that, but I don't think Charlie's stature is accidental or incidental.

And the similarities between Audrey's scenes and the scene between Cooper and ?????? at the beginning of part 1 keep coming.

She sat down after saying she wanted to leave. It's almost as if she was moving backwards. Hm.
