I say:
Mother.
Sarah is the Mother.
Since I slept about 70 minutes last night, woke up to watch Twin Peaks at 4 A.M. (local time) and I've been up ever since, I dare not write a long post on this subject. But, I'm just thinking that almost everyone in the Lodges has had a physical counterpart at some point of the show. Killing the Mother is the only way to end the evil in this universe; it's impossible if she remains the ghost-like entity she is now (she's feared by all the Lodge inhabitants, so I don't think it's even possible to kill her in the Lodge).
I personally think we've seen the last of BOB, I think he's finally been "detained" for his rogue behavior and often theorized disrespect for the rest of his kind.
Buuuuuut, I dunno. Maybe I'll get some sleep after watching Game of Thrones. Maybe I'll regret all that I just wrote when I wake up. We'll see.
Ok Sarah really freaks me out! her voice, her talk, everything..

Sarah is the Mother.
I agree. Another duality. She's the Mother of Abominations AND the mother of Laura Palmer (the human manifestation of the "good" golden orb/egg/thing).
Not bad. She was even way creepier here though. 😀
Sarah saw BOB but she survived. She belongs to the gifted ones, therefore She makes me think of a person who's always on the edge but at the end is unbreakable.
Remember something is happening in Twin Peaks, even normal people can see the signals, just imagine how much of it she can FEEL
Plus, remembering The scene in part 2 when Laura opened up her face showing Pure Light to Cooper. Sarah is the one who carried this pure light inside her. She doesn't have to be possessed to act this weird

Given her morbid obsession with watching graphic nature documentaries showing predators viciously stalking and killing their prey; I think you may be on to something.
Sarah's dialogue after she see's the beef jerkey:
Sarah (speaking to the cashier): "Were you here when they first came?" (I believe she is either talking about the FBI coming to Twin Peaks back in 1990, or the appearance of ufo/aliens in Twin Peaks.
Cashier: "Uh ... yes, they brought it in a couple weeks ago."
Sarah: "Your room seems different, and men are coming."
Cashier: "I'm not sure I know what you mean."
Sarah: "I'm trying to tell you that you have to watch out! Things can happen! Something happened to me. Something happened to me! I don't feel good! I don't feel good!"
Sarah (whispering): "Sarah. Sarah, stop doing this. Stop doing this. Stop doing this. Leave this place. Find the car keys. Find the car keys. Get the car keys. Get the car. Get the goddamn car keys!"
Mrs Tremond. Reminded me of when she was asking Donna about the creamed corn on her plate.
I still don't think she is possessed, but I think something is in her house.
I was actually yelling at my screen for Hawk to ask to use the bathroom, so he could check it out. Arrggh!
I think she's probably acting extra weird right now because the event will probably happen next episode, which is affecting everything in Twin Peaks, and she is spiritually sensitive/gifted.
Not to mention being traumatized and still living in that house, all by herself, subsisting on a diet of bloody marys and cigarettes, apparently.
I don't know about "possessed." I think it's enough for me that she was just psychologically shattered by her family destroying itself right under her nose in the most sordidly traumatic way imaginable.
But I do think there's a presence of sorts in the house. The way she was talking to Hawk, the sound from inside...that goddamn ceiling fan *shudder*...
I think we all at the very least agree that something is extremely, horrifyingly wrong with Sarah Palmer and where she lives. And we may or may not find out if there's more to it than that later on.
And Grace Zabriskie practically stole the show this time. Damn, what an actress!
My mother in law has several mental problems and Sarah Palmer behaves in a very similar way; the altered voice, sudden changes of facial and vocal expression, sees significance and threat in everything, reacts badly to the unexpected.
I reckon Sarah is on the edge, not possessed.

But the sounds in the background were in FWWM and every time we heard them in the film something related to the Lodge was happening. I don't know if she's possessed, but she might be seeing things.
I don't get the vibe she's possessed. Sarah Palmer could see things that others couldn't. That's all.
