Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
Like some others on here have mentioned, I've become annoyed with the Dr. Jacoby broadcasts, as they seem to be repetitive and, because of that, annoying.
But someone on a Reddit forum has posited the notion that 1) Sarah Palmer's talk of "some men are coming" could refer to Woodsmen, 2) those Woodsmen could come from Glastonbury Wood, 3) there could be a Woodsmen invasion of Twin Peaks, and 4) what if the Abe Lincoln Woodsman breaks into Dr. Jacoby's trailer during a broadcast and takes over, kind of like he did in episode 8 at the radio station?
Now that would be a chilling and notable payoff for all these Jacoby scenes.
Hmm... That acutally sounds plausible. If not that, then maybe something to set up some psychotic rage from Nadine.
Dr. Jacoby, ah well, all good things come in threes. 😉 Also, 3 is repetition on the brink of annoyance, so it has to be intentional to gain the effect of conspiracy podcaster. Though this time it got me thinking about why the shovels are gold plated... of course, it's quite a contrast to shit, however: gold is good enough electricity conductor, only copper and silver are better. However it doesn't rust or collect static electricity, also it is a quite perfect radiation shield (which means basically - it reflects wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation which are dangerous to humans, at the same time being less sensitive to visible light wavelengths, which means it heats up less...)

I so totally agree. High five, my good man!
I suspect Jacoby's little setup of homemade electrical appliances is the "fire symbol" from Hawk's map in episode 11.

Of course, Jacobi is broadcasting from White Tail mountain, and Jack Rabbit's Palace is on Blue Pine mountain...
I think the contrasting broadcasts, the woodsman's and Jacobi's are a reference to the fire Hawk speaks of. It's 'like our electricity'. So we see how power can be a force for good, Jacobi's unhinged, but still well intentioned, calls for enlightenment, versus the woodsman's debilitating sleep inducing mantra. Just as atomic power can be used for peaceful ends, the devastating atom bomb was created. A lot going on about how power is neither good nor bad in itself, but depending on its application.
If the Woodsmen try to let a frog moth into Nadine's mouth, they are going to run into a WWE wrestling machine the likes of which they haven't seen since Goldberg.

He may be well intentioned, but he's selling "gold-plated" shovels he spray paibted hinself for thirty bucks...

"Two coats! Guaranteed!"
a few townies have expressed to me that a small group locally are of the impression that there is something buried...crashed...long ago into antiquity...predating even the native tribes... under the town we call Twin Peaks....Jacoby somehow subconsciously perceives this...hence this knowledge expressing subconsciously as a fixation on digging...with gold shovels no less....
consider biblical Jacob...who witnessed "angels" moving back and forth between heaven and earth...hence Jacob's ladder...etc...
think... The Tommyknockers.
but what do I know....?
It's like everything else in TP. There's a duality to it all.
The Woodsmen intend to put people into a catatonic sleep. All so they can have their way with them.
Jacoby wants to wake people up from that perpetual sleep so they can fend for themselves.
I'm not expecting a Woodsmen takeover of the Jacoby radio waves. I think that whole bit about them taking over the radio station was part of preparing the world for what was to come (Bob, Mother, whatever) and is no longer necessary now in the "present". We shall see though.
This is just a product placement in the TV show.
Pretty sure you can find very soon a gold shovel in your Home Depot. 🙂
Note!!! When he strikes the shovel and rings, the ringing is rooted on A! It's an octave or two lower than 430 hz. Nevertheless, I've been searching for more tones that match the ~430 hz hum at the great northern. When I heard that shovel last night, I grabbed my guitar, played an A, and bam, it matched the shovel. It might be on purpose. Or it might just be because that's the note they struck on the vibraphone or whatever instrument they used to make that sound in the studio.

Is this how they'll fund a fourth season and 6 full length motion pictures??
