I just tried to pull a screen shot from the SHO app, and it didn't work, so if someone else can, great, and I apologize if someone else posted on this.
I believe that Sarah was responding to the BRAND LOGO of the jerky- which looks like the symbol for the Experiment- a cirlce with horns sticking out.
When she asks "what kind is that", I don't think she is asking about the meat.

Agreed and if she is possessed ... would seeing that symbol freak out .. say BOB? Very telling that she started talking in the 3rd person too ... to get the hell outta there
Couldn't agree with you more. Not to mention the fact that the check-out girl kept saying it was Turkey Jerky, although they clearly had both Turkey and Beef. Sarah flipped over the logo. No doubt, MJ.

You keep saying that she is possessed; however, she was always gifted if you remember back to the original series. This seemed sadder to me; like she had developed mild schizophrenia, and somehow had safe words for herself and a plan of action.
I am not convinced she is posessed. She was always pretty out there, always had visions, always on the edge. And maybe she swollowed the frog bug...
AND- she has to be just about the most broken person ever. How is she still living in that house!?!

Apparently by subsisting on a diet of bloody mary's and salem cigarettes. You're so right; deep trauma impacts the brain in such a devastating way. They really showed how horrifying her experience has been, and that she's had to live with it. In a way, though, she'd have to stay there, if she can't let go of her memories. Everyone she ever loved is connected to her by that house; although so are so many tragic and nightmarish memories.

Hawk visits: the ceiling fan is on ( ! ). He notices some of the strange things she says ( as well as the noise: "is someone else here?" "just something in the kitchen." )

That the ceiling fan is ON plus our attention is directed to it via the sound (pay attention to the sounds!) to me is a clear warning that something extra-ordinary is present. Sarah's behaviour could be explained away, but not that fan!
My thoughts exactly, MJ. I remember Sarah having a "vision" where she saw a unicorn in her bedroom, while she was lying in bed. This was either in season 2 or FWWM , I can't remember which. It seems that she has some kind of connection with the Lounge or something else, she is obviously disturbed by something. Interesting!

Sarah had a vision of a white horse shortly before both Laura and Maddy's murders.

and there was a white horse in episode 8! is there a connection? I don't know!
(mind=blown)
And the jerky reminded of Sarah watching the lions kill the buffalo at the end of part 2.
This is my best attempt at a Turkey Jerky theory..
I gather from Sarahs fear, it is the turkey jerky that is new and the beef jerky had already been there. .
I'm brand new here, but I have a theory about the jerky... what if eating anything with the "experiment/mother" symbol on it, causes either;
a.) the "candy" syndrome/mind control or
b.) the zombie sickness the girl had, in the last episode, whose mother was fully having an adult temper tantrum and laying on her horn for nearly that entire sequence. . .
My additional third idea is- What if the ? aren't what they seem AND someone is making jerky out of them and feeding the residents of twin peaks some gross black lodge ?jerky, not ? jerky!! ?=?!! ? eww ?

This. During that scene (and maybe even the one with Hawk, but I don't remember) there's the same sound we hear many times in FWWM, like when Philip Gerard is chasing Leland's car (not the one the LMFAP makes, the other in the background), or when Coop finds Chester Desmond's car. I think there's the same sound in some other scenes (probably during Jeffries' appearance in Philly and when Desmond goes back to the trailer park) and it's generally somehow associated with Mike, but I have to watch those scenes again.
Is it the Turkey Jerky or does the female cashier assume Sarah means the Turkey Jerky?
