Diane was clearly upset at seeing Mr. C when the two of them were alone. But she seemed more pensive at the texts she was receiving. Because of this, I can't believe she's in cahoots with Mr. C. I'm wondering if she's resentful at the FBI but hoping to help Cooper and receiving these messages on someone else's phone. I guess if it wasn't her phone, Cole & Albert would know that. But I can't rectify her response to Mr. C and her calm when returning a text. She identified the location of the coordinates in the bar, but as far as we know, she hasn't sent any information about those to Mr. C. And she looked fairly dismayed at learning the location of the coordinates. Could it be Jeffries' phone? Maybe she was indeed the one Mr. C talked to when he thought he was contacting Jeffries' in the hotel room.
And unrelated, it's getting harder and harder to wait the week-long stretch til the next episode.
She acted upset when she talked to bad coop at the prison. But she knew Cole and the others were listening. Later, her manner and the "hug" she gave Cole seemed to make him suspicious. From almost the beginning, he didn"t trust her.
What I don't get is why she left the FBI. What did she do all those years?

That's true, they were listening, but they weren't watching - her face was one of horror. But then she watched a woodsman get into a squad car and explode Hasting's head - very confusing.
Another thought is that if Mr. C. has all of Cooper's memories, maybe he's holding something over her head. She clearly wants to know who he is and was very upset, but continues to calmly go about this communication, watching the woodsman, texting, etc without sharing directly with Albert & Gordon

I agree. In another thread I said I thought that Mr.C has in fact been talking to Diane, not Jeffries. I think it's entirely credible that Diane began investigating Mr.C after 'that visit' and already knew enough to be able to pose as Jeffries.
But when she finds out the coordinates lead to Twin Peaks - that look on her face - she's really distressed! And then there is quite a long moment of black screen after that with just ominous noise!
She was (metaphorically) Cooper's arm, knowing almost everything about this man. And He as well knows everything about Cooper not being Cooper. There's space to assume that this relationship can have a psychological depth we can't even imagine. I mean, we didn't even know she was actually real before this season. Diane is a complete enigma.
