Around the dinner table, the conversation was lively. Thank you but for now, the forum has been archived.
My father got me this old Schwinn...secondhand.
He painted it green, got a new seat for it.
Two-tone green, kind of a lime green and a deep forest green.
Fat tires.
Oh, it was so hard to ride, but I loved that bike.
I loved that bike. I'd ride with my friends.
This is a Schwinn bike from early 50's.
Like Charles Foster Kane's sled in Orson Welles movie, Ben Horne the millionaire regrets his first bike.
And his childhood.
And true love.
i would pine for that pine-colored bicycle too. i have an old green schwinn 3-speed from the 60's.. so i loved this scene & when he started reminiscing i was hoping we might get one of those ben horne flashbacks like the one about "dancing with a flashlight on the hooked rug" from the original series. alas that wasn't in the stars so thanks for posting this visual 🙂
