Is the girl in the car possessed? And why is the mom in a hurry to see "her uncle "?
bobby seems very weirded out by this whole situation on the road... I thought he almost looked like he was trying to understand or process what was going on...
I feel like I'm missing something here... who is this girl possessed by? If she's vomiting garmonbozia could it mean she's hosting someone inside her ?
It didn't look like creamed corn, did it?
Yeah was very watery looking. Weird almost clichéd demonic movements too, hmmm you've stumped me on that one Lynch

The Lamplighter Inn in Lewis Fork has hit the skids....the tuna melt got her.
It's possible that between Pea Soup girl, Ralphie (who nearly shot someone's eye out), and rampage Becky that something is getting into the kids in town.
But I posted on another thread that I was really digging the Night of the Living Dead/Excorcist vibe coming off of that scene. That plus Miriam crawling half dead through the grass screamed zombie movie homage to me.
I think that there's a relationship between this possessed girl and what happened to Sky Ferreira character in part 9.
It's probably the Chinese designer drugs that "Red" is selling. That's my guess at least. Or some other kind of poison. The way the girl was lifted up and started moving, I half expected to see woodsmen lifting her about. Maybe they were there?
The way the gun went off was a little remindful of when Andy dropped/fired his weapon in the original series right before they arrested the one armed man. There was also a distinct theme in this episode of people firing guns and nobody getting hurt. Flirting with danger. And the people hurt the most by these actions (arguably Shelly and the possessed kid, or even Hastings in his scene) are not those you think are in the most danger.
I also wondered if it was all to highlight the change in Bobby Briggs. He's gone from someone you wouldn't trust to water a plant to a depute. Out of all the 'tableaux', of the talk with Becky & Shelley; the shooter kid & parents; & the woman & drooling girl, he was the only one who looked like a sane, responsible adult!
Did the mom in that car seem to be channeling the comedian Lewis Black or what? There's probably something to what she said, but I did not make any connections.
I also suspected that it's the new designer drugs affecting her.
I like the change in Bobby, too. It's a nice transformation of him as a older, wiser, more responsible, and sadder man than he was in his reckless youth.
Maybe she is rejecting a frogroach???

I think if a couple of antennae had appeared, that would just have tipped some people over the edge! 😉
The drug epidemic seems like a plausible answer. The dispatch operator told Sheriff Truman a young kid OD'd at school. That was another episode where Bobby appeared, and he's supposed to be on the lookout for possible smuggling trails.
The way this girl kind of oozed up onto the seat and almost slithered over to the woman and then all that delicious looking, watered down, rotting pea soup started just drooling out of her mouth......... reminded me so much of the modern Japanese horror remakes like The Ring and The Grudge (etc.).
And the woman driving, honking her horn and freaking out while her bumper is embedded in the bumper in front of her.....at first I was like "shut up, what is your problem?" Then the girl started entering the picture (from where exactly? the floor of the car?) I realized why she was being so crazy. I would be too if that were happening in my car!
