Did I miss something here? Why did it look as if Norma was giving Becky ques during the RR Diner scene with Shelly and Bobby? Anyone else notice this?
I feel like Norma is a sort of surrogate mother to Shelly and therefore a surrogate grandmother to Becky. They're practically family.
I agree with James, they are like family. And I'm quite sure Norma knows she is watching Shelley's daughter make the same mistakes Shelley, and even Norma, have already made. In fact, Norma probably knows that Shelley is CURRENTLY re-making the same mistake she has already made with the whole running off to make out with Red.
I'd sure love to know Norma's current state of affairs (as well as Ed's). Other than doing her Double-R accounting and pouring the occasional cup of coffee we haven't really seen her do anything in The Return.
Norma was already worried about Shelly giving money to Becky the first time we see her.
And yeah, it would be nice to see Norma finish upcwith the paperwork at some point. Of course, we haven't seen big Ed yet...

Hi hope,
Yes, I noticed that, too. Becky didn't even remember centrifuging Shelly off her car (and separating her from her red shoes) until she looked at Norma and saw Norma's expression change. =:-O
Those red shoes must be really dense! Encrusted with rubies or diamonds on the soles? 😉
(with apologies to Elvis Costello)
Oh, I used to be disgusted
And now I try to be amused
But since their wings have got rusted
You know, the angels want to wear my red shoes
But when they told me 'bout their side of the bargain
That's when I knew that I could not refuse
And I won't get any older, now that angels want to wear my red shoes
Oh, oh, I was watching while you're dancing away
Our love got fractured in the echo and sway
How come everybody wants to be your friend?
You know that it still hurts me just to say it
Oh, I know that she's disgusted (oh, why's that?)
Because she's feeling so abused (oh, that's too bad)
She gets tired of the lust (oh, I'm so sad)
But it's so hard to refuse
Can you say that I'm too old
When the angels have stolen my red shoes?
Oh, oh I said, "I'm so happy I could die"
She said, "Drop dead, " then left with another guy
That's what you get if you go chasing after vengeance
Ever since you got me punctured, this has been my sentence
Oh, I used to be disgusted
But now I try to be amused
But since their wings have got rusted
You know, the angels want to wear my red shoes
But when they told me 'bout their side of the bargain
That's when I knew that I could not refuse
And I won't get any older, now that the angels want to wear my red shoes
Oh, I won't get any older, now the angels want to wear my red shoes
Red shoes, the angels want to wear my red shoes
Red shoes, the angels want to wear my red shoes
Red shoes, the angels want to wear my red shoes....
😉

Did anyone else find the way Norma watched and judged a bit condescending?
I did - I found it all a bit creepy.
It's not like she never hooked up with the wrong crowd!
I didn't see judgment there but I've only seen that scene the one time.
