As the limo drives through the desert to the rendezvous with the Mitchum brothers, in one shot, there's a golden orb moving down the screen on the highway.
It's a lens reflection. On the left side, higher up, we can see three blueish lens reflection artifacts, so there's no question that these are all lens reflections. -- But we also know that lens reflections are sometimes added to scenes to sparkle up shots, especially when they're CGI, and the lens artifacts add another touch of realism.
I'm posting, because on my most recent replay of ep. 11, I noticed these reflections more than before, and I flashed on Laura Palmer's golden orb of ep. 8.
It's nothing but a coincidence, and it's a big stretch to make any connection between those two things, so I'm kidding. I think.
This could be a public confession proving that one's discernment can get twisted from rerunning The Return episodes too much. A shift in our perception can take place, and we end up feverishly suspecting that Absolutely. Everything. Is. Purposeful. And. Important.
P.S. I want to point out my new avatar which couldn't have been hooked up to my account without the generous help of our hard working host, Pieter Dom. Thanks again, Pieter!
Unrelated thought, but as the limo drove down the trail towards the meeting with the Mitchum brothers, the many connected pathways branching out in every direction seemed to be suggestive of how the entire series has gone. Lots of inter-woven, loosely connected tales all stemming from the same main path.
