Diane says she saw the "Woodsman" get out of the car, but in the scene she actually watches as the "dirty homeless man" goes in, and then she turns away.
Diane, in reply to the Cop's(forgot his name) call for backup, says, "There's no backup for this". So Diane has to know probably more about these spirit woodmen than Cole and Albert. She knows they're not dealing with physical enemies.
Why'd she lie?
Because she is working for someone else. Mr C, Jeffries, someone else?
yeah and perhaps by giving Coop the heads up that Hastings was going to show the FBI the site, the spirit hobos were ready to kill Hastings.
Updated femme fatale. Hope she will be responsible for Tammy's death rather than for Cole/Albert's.

Aww poor Tammy. Though I'm not sure why she's been specially selected to tag along with Albert and Gordon?
Diane is up to no good though. Albert & Gordon were prob aware that like them, she too could see the woodsman (Blue Rose / Lodge connection), so she let on to see him leaving the car rather than entering. If she'd said she'd seen it entering they will have thought why didn't you say something to us and maybe we could have prevented Hasting's death.
And now she knows Albert knows about her. What are they going to do about each other?

I hope so too.
Still don't understand why Diane doesn't yell and swear at her.

I've had to add in a couple of "Fuck you Tammy's on her behalf...!
I'm sticking with Diane being a reluctant conduit for Mr C - and Gordon & Albert being aware of it and performing for the microphone or whatever. She could have a whole filming unit concealed under some of those clothes.
Diane is not evil. Playing a double game, yes. Dishonest, yes. Hidden agenda, yes. Evil, no.
For all we know, she may be acting under duress. We don't know what Mr C did, or what hold he has over her.

HAHA So did I! Especially when they are out at the site of Hastings coordinates and Tammy had her gun out, standing in your ridiculous pumps, posing like she was one of Charlie's Angels. I even said to the TV, "Fuck you Tammy."
I don't think Diane is evil either. I think you and Deputy Sam and many others are quite correct about her being under diress of some sort. She was too sincere with Cole in that scene at the prison when she told him that she knew Mr. C wasn't Dale. So she's either been replaced by a body snatcher or inhabited by too much creamed corn.
Something else odd about Diane last night. She actually asked if she could smoke in the detectives office. At the morgue she just lit up and then told them off when told she couldn't smoke in there. Yet she asked more than once and then essentially convinced the detective to consent.
Her inconsistency seems to the only consistent thing about her.
Tammy can pose in her pumps as often as she wants to.
Maybe she felt that she needed to make an effort to be nice, or wanted to be noticed in a positive way, rather than have someone telling her off. Or she just wanted to make a point.
What if she is working for Jeffries?
One of the things that strikes me is the premise of Milford's working group of people is that Ike made a deal with the grey's for genetic material. So I am wondering if Diane being aware of all the possible duplicity in the government thinks Cole and Albert are not "good" and is working for someone else Jeffries is the only thing I can think of that would have her working directly with Cooper.
I am interested in where Jeffries is at.
Evil and good are really relative in this.
Brandy - in case you didn't see this on Episode 10 forum... It's not just us! 😉
