I believe the reference to Hawk's heritage is an indian casino. Hawk will find Cooper at the Casino.
That's what I was thinking as well...
I hadn't even thought about this. That's a valid consideration.
It did occur to me that "non-existant" might be what Josie is, trapped in the doorknob. I tend to think, though, that "eyes sewn shut" woman is just part of another tale...
Random observation: Coop looking up at the camera in the Casino is reflective/reminiscent of the scene in FWWM when he goes in to the hallway to look up at the camera before Jeffries walks in.
That would make sense! I was kind of expecting a fire alarm valve, as in the scene of Leland's death (and elsewhere too) in the original series. 😀
Does anyone else feel a bit uneasy about Margaret's reference to Hawk's "heritage"? Lucy's tone deafness worked to defuse tension a bit... but I had to wince. There's the same sort of play with Indian identity as there was in the original seasons—which was, tbh, pretty painful (I'm not gonna talk about Johnny)—but it's 26 years later! I worry that Hawk becomes a token "playing Indian" Indian, despite the fact that his character offers much more than that. It's all very reflexive... but I'm not sure that makes it ok. (This is literally my only criticism of the new episodes, btw.)
It might just be you.
Isn't Dougie in Las Vegas? That city isn't really know for having Indian casinos. That's more of non-Vegas/Reno/Atlantic City thing.
I think that the eyeless woman could refer to Coop ' s victims shot in the eye... However Darya is not killed by shot in the eye...
As for Good Coop in not matching Dougie ' s shoes I see it as an image of old saying " walking in someones shoes" just like he is living Dougie ' s life now.

@declassifiedair, i was thinking the same thing. Josie in her own purgatory/hell. At least she doesn't seem to be the same character as the "American girl" played by Phoebe Augustine that does replace her after the electricity (?) is switched off (?).
Cooper and his doppelganger's son are named after infamous criminals.
Dale Bartholomew Cooper - DB Cooper, hijacked a plane and disappeared in 1971.
Dougie Jones' son, Sonny Jim Jones - Jim Jones, cult leader who poisoned his followers in 1978.
since dale and his namesake both disappeared, i can't help but wonder what little Sonny Jim will get up to over the next 14 episodes.
...has anyone else noticed Jacques Renault as a barman at the Roadhouse at the end of episode 2?
Yes! And he was credited as a FOURTH Renault brother in the credits. Maybe we'll see more of him...
Also, personal theory: Dougie Jones' son is inhabited by the Giant. A) because he gives that same thumbs up as the old room service man in S2E1 and B) because he seems totally unfazed that his "dad" is acting abnormally.
That would make sense, to have someone there to keep an eye on "Made" Coop so he dosent go rogue? Or get into trouble / fail etc. Just as the Giant was there to keep an eye on our Coop at the Great Northern
No, not Vegas, it is a casino in South Dakota.

Sounds like BOB has named them both.

I believe the "black hills of South Dakota" is where Booper's car crash was. I don't think there's anything to suggest that's the same place Dougie is.
Also I thought there was a city overview shot of Las Vegas around the Dougie stuff, or before a pan over to the Silver Mustang casino.
If all this hype about Hawk's heritage, plus the Lewis & Clark & Twisted Hair stuff in the book, and all that....is just leading up to that there's an Indian casino, that is so shitty.
The vomit... it kinda looked like Garmonbozia? Or am i crazy
