Does anyone else think the fleshy "head" part of the arm is a wad of gum?  In reference to "that gum you like will come back in style"

Not at all! Hehe. But it did remind me of "Eee-lec-tric-city" and I can't remember if that's from FWWM or the original series; but I'm pretty sure the arm said it at one point...

There's more going on with Mike and The Arm and Gerard that I haven't even begun to wrap my head around yet...

The "Electricity" line is from FWWM. Also, the head on the evoluted Arm looks, to me, like something straight out of "Eraserhead" - not sure what to make about it yet, but there's a lot of food for thoughts.

Yeah, the head of the tree (Arm) it's so ''Eraserhead'' and that's why i like it! Its so Lynch! Also i find in these 1st episodes a mix or lets say moments of every David's movie and i love it!

Yes, this really feels like an organic continuation of all of his works and themes while it still menages to be different, unique and fresh. Actually, if I were to give a title to this new show, I'd call it "Twin Peaks Deconstructed" rather than "The Return", because it really seems like he is taking all the 'ingredients' that were part of the original series and expanding them, building on them - this time without having to come to terms with the pressure of making something palatable for the general audiences. Going back while also going forward.

I realize it can be difficult for some of the fans, but I think this is what art should always be: challenging and unexpected or, to phrase it more appropriately... wonderful and strange.

It's Julee Cruise's doppelganger.
