I rewatched Episode 1 as shown on the Showtime App (I have seen all 4, but no spoilers will be posted here). I noticed a couple of abnormalities that I haven't seen mentioned before. Both revolving around the glass box.

The first is the second time we go to the apartment, when Sam (name given to the character in the credits, I don't believe anyone calls him that in the first episode) hears the freight elevator.

First, I want to name the cameras. Based on earlier in the episode, a woman's voice comes over the intercom saying "Camera 3" and Sam gets up to log the memory card in the cabinet. This camera is the 3rd camera, clock-wise, from the glass tunnel to the exterior (if you consider the tunnel as "12" on a clock.) This is also the camera closest to the cabinet.

When we return, we see him standing at "Camera 4" the next camera in the sequence of six cameras surrounding the box, not counting the camera over the couch.

Following him hearing the freight elevator, the camera shifts and he's standing at Camera 3 again.

This is probably just an editing error, but you can never tell with lynch. When the camera changes again, he is back at Camera 4, and walks past Camera 3 to get to the security door.

-------

Later in the same setting, after Sam brings Tracey into the room and they sit on the couch, the coffee cup carrier moves on its own while nothing else does. They sit on the couch and Sam puts the coffee carrier on the lower shelf of the end table (under the banzai tree). The camera changes to show the box, and then returns to them, and the carrier has shifted to the left.

Also probably nothing, but I thought I would mention it.

Also re-watching this, I have an even greater feeling that Tracey had more motivations. She clearly told Sam WHEN she would return "Same time tomorrow" in front of the guard, so the guard knew exactly when she would be there, and no one else was there at the same time. That can't be coincidence.

Well, i think Tracey was way more curious than she should have been. I don't know, that's what i thought since i saw her. Maybe there is something more in this specific storyline, maybe not..

I thought it was telling when Sam said the man that worked there before saw something....that he wouldn't tell him, or, he "couldn't" tell him.

i immediately figured the first "box watcher" was either dead or disappeared

i read another post where someone cited the secret history of twin peaks, that this box was specifically in that book.   Can't find the post again!! Guess I need to read it seems like the information contained there fills in a lot of the gaps.

The Secret History of Twin Peaks is a good read - is even more interesting in the audiobook version, since it features some of the original actors reprising their roles (and the voice cast does a pretty good job all around).

However, while it does give more than a bit of context and interesting bits of info, do not expect it to come with any revelation (and there a couple of "continuity" problems, but nothing big).

Anyway, it's not exactly "this box" that is mentioned in the book: there's just a similar kind of situation.

Maybe Tracey was hired by Duncan Todd's (Patrick Fischler) boss, the unknown bad guy.

Yeah i found really weird that Tracey wanted to know more about the room inside, also what happened to the guard/guards? As Sam said, it is really strange that are not there.

in her defense, even if she is innocent, who wouldn't be curious? it's a very strange situation. i personally think she did have more than one reason to want to go into the room, though. wonder if we'll get any more info on her anytime soon.

Before Sam goes out to investigate, it sounds like the elevator goes down after Tracy comes up ( the first time, the elevator didn't go down until Tracy left ).
