Dune -The production was excellent, just not an excellent level film ( though not as bad as some people think ). It just ends with a kind of "tune in next week" kind of ending.

The Baron's heart-valve scene was right up David's alley.

The silver lining of Dune was Dino D. promised David he'd have final cut on Blue Velvet.

That was Alicia Witt's first major role, I believe, then Twin Peaks.  Next time I saw her was in Cybill.  I think she played all the piano parts her character played, too.  She's a musical genius.

Yes she actually played the piano, and for whatever reason at the very end just before the electric Lynch/Frost logo they showed her playing the piano.
