I am pretty sure that someone on here has seen some spoilers - possibly the Russian ones that RDG spotted on Reddit - and is dressing them up as speculation by doing a bit of research and association around them so it looks as though they've worked things out for themselves.

Please refrain. I don't want to get personal (which would no doubt rightly earn me a warning) but there is no way to request this politely offline.  You know who you are.

(Clarification: It's not RDG, who has confessed to seeing the spoilers and has been admirably circumspect about revealing anything.)

How do I know if I didn't see the spoilers? I got an inadvertent and unwanted TPTR-related "news" item on my phone home page a while back.  It referenced something so specific that I think it would be virtually impossible to guess details (which I've see on here) unless you'd seen the spoiler. IMO it's cheating present an idea as speculation if you've had info up front.

Anyway, what's the fun in speculation if you might not be barking up entirely the wring tree????

Is there some way you could reference where it is on here so we can avoid it?

Thanks for the warning 🙂

Btw - why do people do pretend they came up with the idea when it's a spoiler? Someone did it a few weeks ago with the Jeffries thing and it was blatantly covered up as a theory. I don't understand, it's not like we're going to suddenly set up a new religion in their name and follow them around doing their bidding.

No, I can't think of a way of warning without confirming exactly what the spoiler is.

The good thing is, it's not announced as such so hopefully people will only twig once the event has ocurred on screen.

I've liked a lot of the poster's other musings. And I'd probably enjoy their musings on this point - after the final parts have aired.

Of course, there is a very small possibility that it's a lucky guess and coincidence (you know, monkeys typing Shakespeare and all that - or maybe Lee Oswald Bailey or whoever shot Kennedy was actually taking a pot shot at an owl flying over). So this is just a general gentle reminder. I don't want to start a war.

Apart from the fact that lots of people don't want to know what's going to happen, the annoying thing about spoilers like the Russian thing is that they take the fun out of speculating and take away from the amazement when someone who hasn't seen them makes a wild and creative guess that turns out to be right. There's been a few of those on here too.

Thanks for the heads up.

Im thinking I may avoid the forum Saturday through Sunday just in case there's any malicious posting beforehand.

I only inadvertently saw one detail in the news item that appeared on my phone and I've only seen one related post. I think RDG has seen the Part summaries and can confirm here if there's any other stuff that looks fishy.

I don't want to have to stay off here until Monday night!!!

I'm going to have to go up to the mountains and away from all Internet access on Sunday night, though. I don't quite trust myself not to take a peak.

I'm the same. I'm avoiding the forum on Monday as I don't get to watch it til at least 7pm. Not going on the forum all day is gonna be a killer!

Coincidentally, after posting on here a second ago I got a push notification on my phone about twin peaks. Thankfully nothing spoilery!

Thanks for the warning, KL.  I may also stay away until I've watched the end.

I can assure everyone that the ideas I come up with are entirely my own.  Not that you'll believe it, if any of them turn out to be right.

I guess we'll address that if it happens.

Speak for yourself.  😉

I guess it's just so they can have bragging rights and seem smarter than the rest of us.

I'm pretty sure all my theories are right!  😀

Cheaters never prosper.

I tend to stay away from the theory threads so that I avoid even the accidental truths.

They don't read like disguised spoilers - batty, profound, hilarious. And some should be right even if they're not. (I expect one or two are.)

I finally - FINALLY!  - predicted something (well, wished for, to be really honest) that looks as though it's coming true. I'll be gutted if it turns out to have appeared already in a spoiler.

Edit: I was quoting you SXT but when I posted the quote disappeared. !¿?¡!

Hehe, I've had that happen to be before.  As Dougie Jones said, "That's... weird".

Over the years my wisdom-stupidity ratio seems to have shifted somewhat to the point where I've more than one choice available in how I react to something. I could be delusional and probably have relapses. 😉 Whereas before a great anger would have surfaced, now a sense of sadness bubbles up in me when I read that someone on here has allegedly made the choice to veil spoilers as well thought out theories.

Assuming this is the case, I'd like to respectfully invite them to really think about their intent, i.e. what do I want to achieve by doing this? Is it because I've stumbled upon the spoilers that exist on Reddit, and like a secret someone has entrusted me with, I simply have to tell it? Can I ask of anyone who's done this already what the feeling was like once the Submit button below was clicked upon. I'm keen to explore that feeling, does it release dopamine or adrenaline for example. What feeds this desire, and I'm not judging, I am genuinely curious.

From a TPTR point of view, I think the best course of action is probably to avoid this forum and any others, so that I can luxuriate in this whole wonderful adventure on my own terms, until we've got past the final two parts, which again fills me with a great sense of loss already. There'll be a lingering void that'll open up.

See you on the other side. Have the greatest of times as this gift that kept on giving gives us the final two gifts. I don't mind what happens, but would love to see Cooper find some way of enjoying the rest of his life and perhaps somehow make up for the time spent in the Lodge.

🙂

This message made me review my post since the last episode to see what predictions I've made.  God, they have gotten crazy.  Most of my thoughts any more are just jokingly.  I keep talking about series fatigue, but now I'm depressed.  I've not been adding much to the conversation for weeks.

@ Colin - Beats me.  I'm good at keeping secrets.  The exception to the rule is Mrs Therapy.  I never keep secrets from her, about anything.  Never have, never will.

I have an idea that spreading information around - for men, anyhow - is part of a dominance/superiority thing, showing they know more than you, or found out sooner, or whatever.  Childish but then, many people are childish.

@ Charlie - Don't worry about it.  It's all good and besides, if we kept serious and stuck to the exact topic all the time, this place would be dull.  Anyhow, I don't want to be the only raving loony on here, it'd get lonely being the village idiot on me own.

I'm becoming paranoid, wondering at every thread and post.

Luckily this forum is so active and has SO many theories and ideas, I can't possibly know which, if any is a spoiler until after it's over.
