I've not seen a post like this so forgive if it has been made before, also please forgive me if there is a more appropriate location for this post to go.
Lynch has gone on the record to state that we, the viewer (dreamer), are free to make our own conclusions to Twin Peaks. I won't argue with that, and will present my own "conclusion".
We know that Cooper went back in time and that messed up what we know about the events of Season 1, Season 2, (season 3 for that matter), and FWWM.
That said, I propose we come up with a Grand Unifying Theory of Twin Peaks.
That is, let's detail out every other movie or historical event in which we can make a fairly clear connection to something related to Twin Peaks. I want to see how Twin Peaks is connected to other films. I'm not talking about simple things like; "I saw in True Detective that they are some donuts so it must be connected!" I'm also not talking about trying to connect other works of David Lynch to Twin Peaks (tho there is a great article about that found elsewhere online).
I've got a list of examples at home, I'll list them when I do get home to show some examples of what I am referring to (One of them is that a Teresa Banks was mentioned as being murdered in another movie / tv show I watched that took place in or around Seattle, WA - but that's all that was said - still, it's something of a connection).
Move this out of Q&A to General Discussion. Much more conducive to a conversation in this forum.
The X-Files featured a lot of Peaks actors, although no crossover characters; Don Davis, Richard Beymer, Michael Horse, Michael J Anderson, Frances Bay among others. Denise Duchovny being the most obvious one 😉
