When Coop is falling through the blackness, he sees the ballooning cloud stuff like that in ep 8..... is it the same? Is Coop sent back in time and through the same cloud that Bob was in?

With the whole non-exist-ent thing, I always felt like the doppelganger arm was basically alerting that Dale is not an existing entity, that he is somehow non-compliant and doesn't belong where he is.
I appreciate I'm probably over simplifying things.
